She gave birth to 2 cubs. She seems to be caring for them very well. Doesn't seem like she is gonna eat them as many people have told me hamsters do.

If things seem fine, leave her. Watch for her to eat them, but if there are only 2 you shouldn't have to worry.

Get rid of them as soon as they are ready to prevent more breeding.

Make sure mom gets proper nutrition and salt lick, maybe suppliments.

Keep mommy comfortable. Theres not much you need to know really. The mom should do it all.

Try to not handle her at all for a week or so. When you clean her cage try not to disturb her nest.

Since you've not had her very long, I would suggest you not touch her babies. Its a rumor that they all eat their young if touched by a human, but they WILL eat their babies if they feel threatened. If you've only had her a few days she probably doesn't trust you yet, and accidents might happen. (Actaully 2 pups sounds like a small litter so she may have already devoured a couple. If this is her first litter, none of them may survive in the long run.)

After about 21 days the babies can leave their mom. Around 4 weeks you should sex them and separate the males from the females, as they can get impregnated shortly after that.

The females should be able to stay with the mom. Dwarf hamsters are more social than the Syrian hamsters, and females are more likely to accept a perminate cagemate than a male is.

However, when the daughters are all grown up they may fight among each other. Its common for two to turn against one if the nuber is odd in the cage. Only time will tell if they can be kept together or have to be seperated.

don't remove the father! if you remove it the percent of the baby survival will be greatly reduced, i always keep the dwarf hamster father in the cage because it help to raise the baby, when the first to fourth day of birth give some nesting material, also don't distract the Mother because it will eat the babies or cannibalism, also don't touch it, if you touch it the babies will have a different scent and the mother wont milk the babies! you can touch it when the babies already 2 weeks old, also if you found any dead babies remove it immediately, for the food, the mother need a high protein so you can give a treat like boiled eggs, after 1 month you may remove it to the other cage, just remember it!

You will have to put them together a little with you watching them for a couple of hours and if they get along fine you could keep them together. They would mose likley breed soon and within a couple of months you would have babies. You can tell if your female hamster is pregnant by getting bigger she dosnt want to be handled and a week before she gives birth her nipples will stick out. You would need to get more bedding for the mum and leave the babies for a couple of weeks no handling them or mum. Its best to give the mother the same food but maybe some more nutrisous stuff like egg and carrots. So the mother dosnt eat the babies DONT Handle them... Thats it I hope you have babies... Haha x

Leave her alone. When the babies are about 10-12 weeks old, you should move them to separate cages to keep them from getting pregnant again.

Hamsters do not eat their young (fathers can be hostile), but the mother will be very protective. If you try to touch her, she will bite you.

Just try to make her as comfortable as possible. Make sure her cage is clean, but wait at least 2 weeks and to pick her up, I'd use her exercise ball or something like it (a cup) to pick her up WITH the babies. Make sure she has food and water, and she'll do the rest.

Sometimes hamsters eat their young; sometimes not. If you have other hamsters, especially males, keep them separated. The males will eat the babies; the mother will, too, if she's stressed. Other than that, do nothing, except look at it as getting three hamsters for the price of one!

call the pet store. they will tell you what to do. my hamster doesn't' like other hamsters. i think she will be fine for now, but when the babies grow up, things may not be so pretty in the hamster pen. i heard that grown hamsters can eat other hamsters too.
