I got my new horse at the beginning of november, and apart from a few teething problems while she was settling in, we got on fine. suddenly, in the past week or so, she has started being really nasty.
when i go to catch her in her field, she pins her ears back and snaps at me, and kicks out at me. she has a headcollar on, and when i manage to grab her she throws her head around trying to get away.
after a few seconds she stops, but then i can't get her to move. i've tried taking her rug off first, then asking her to move, turning her head to move her, but she only takes one step, everything i can think of! i dont know what else i can try, so i'm asking you lot!

things before she started this:
she is in a huge field, but at first she was fenced off with electric fence. a storm broke the circuit and she got out.

i have since taken the fence down, after putting her back in and seeing her get out despite of the electricity

she ripped the inside of her rug but has a new one now

My dogs have fleas bad and I have tried everything on the market to rid of them and they just keep getting reinfested, I have used carpet powders and flea bombs and nothing seems to work in the house after I treat the dogs, they just come back.

When my dog came in from outside today, he had a large cut in between his legs. It almost looks like a glass cut or a stab wound. I do not have a lot of money, and was wondering if I could just clean w/ peroxide and use an anti-biotic ointment, or do I need to take him to the vet? The wound doesn't seem to be bothering him that much, he just licks it occasionally.

There was a boy standing on a corner selling fish.

He was saying, "Dam fish for sale, dam fish for sale."

A preacher walked up and asked why he was calling them dam fish.

The kid said, "I caught them at the dam, so they're dam fish."

The preacher bought some, took them home and asked his wife to cook the dam fish.

His wife looked at him in bewilderment and said, "Preachers aren't supposed to talk like that."

The preacher explained why they were dam fish, and she agreed to cook them. When dinner was ready and everyone was sitting down, the preacher asked his son to pass him the dam fish.

His son replied, "That's the spirit dad. Pass the fuckin potatoes!"

when she plays she bites and scratches, and i don't know how to get her to stop. i've been 'ignoring' this behaviour as advised on a couple of web sites, but it doesn't seem to be having any effect. also, it means that we don't get very much contact at all; she cannot really be stroked unless she is asleep or dozy, and i'm worried that she'll grow up not really used to being regularly handled. i've noticed as well that, unlike what it says on a lot of sites, she hardly needs any sleep. if i am awake, she's awake, and she'll follow me around all day!

I've had many cats in my life (only two all black) and it seems that they are the only two that hunch thier backs when they yawn and stretch..why is this? i'm sure all cats are able to do it but i normally see other cats stretch thier front paws far out and stretch that way..just curious!

My brother in law is an exotic animal trainer for show business, and the animals are all trained using just positive reinforcement. The guy who wrote the book says you can't get birds, rats, ostriches, dolphins, killer whales, etc to work for you using force. The animal either won't work or will turn on you.
Marine mammals will drag the trainer underwater if they don't like the training.

So, is the only reason we still use techniques like helicoptering (lifting a dog's front feet off the ground until the dog either passes out or submits), beating (as described by the Koehler method), Alpha rolling, (as performed by the egotistical Cesar Millan,)
on dogs is that dogs will forgive us and still work?

And if a husband hits his wife, and the wife forgives him, does it make it right for the husband to have hit his wife to start with?
