My dobe just turned 1 year (female). When strangers come over or we are outside and someone walks by, she kinda wants nothing to do with it like she is scared or something. Does the protectiveness come with age or what? She is a sweet dog, but isn't there a time when she needs to be protective? Is there something that I need to do? We take her for walks and she meets a few people from time to time, but she never got testy with anyone yet. We have a min pin who is the opposite, when the doorbell rings, she goes bannanas!

She knows "sit", "paw" and some other simple commands, but when we say "come" she refuses. Usually it's when we are asking her to come back inside that she refuses. Instead she usually turns and looks at me, then runs back out into the yard.

I have a German Shepard who goes jogging with me (on a leash) every day. Occassionally someone yells "Don't worry, he's friendly," as their dog comes running out of the yard after us. My dog is not friendly to other dogs, which is why he is always restrained. He is not vicious, but takes time to socialize to other dogs and will be aggressive at first. I keep him under control when it happens, but what if the "nice" dog doesn't get the hint? I don't want to try to separate my dog from a fight because other people decide their dog is friendly enough that the leash law does not apply to them. I carry Muzzle pepper spray just in case, but I don't want to ever have to use it. Does anyone else have this problem?

We got a quaker from my husbands brother and its bonded with him real well, but not so good for my daughter and I. Well, now at least he will come and sit on me but none of us can pet his head. I'm getting tired of getting bitten, and he bites hard! Hes about 4 or 5 years old and don't seem to have been handeled much.

Is there any way we can get him to let us pet him?

Whenever my dog scratches her left ear she always yelps loudly. We think she might have ear mites and might try putting some baby oil in her ears and cleaning it out with some q-tips. But we dont know if thats even the problem or if she has a different problem or if not a different way to fix it. any help appreciated!

as above to the point of bleeding. vet has given multiple drugs and is costing a forture. but nothing is helping my staff. she`s even been nibbling between her pads today making it bleed.she was scratching her head and neck to point of bleeding so we changed diet to an expensive hypoallergenic formula.which seemed to work for 2 or 3 weeks. but the simptomes are coming back.. she is a very well kept girl. so its not stress from being beaten or anything. she comes everywhere with me.. think its stressing her because tonight shes grinding her teeth. i`ll be back in the vets with her first thing on monday but starting to feel they just see this as an open cheque book. thanks peeps

Whenever I'm changing in my room, he stares at me. I tried to train him to not look but he doesn't listen, and it really worries me. I think he is a pervert because it's like he stares on purpose. Please help me and tell me how to make it so he doesn't watch me while I;m changing.

I have a 3 year old male cat, it sprays EVERYTHING in my home. If I have him spaded now, will he still spray? Any good ideas on how to get rid of the nasty cat pee smell out of furniture and large stuffed animals?
