Lol, labs eat everything. Give your vet a call. He'll probably be fine, but you need to talk to an educated person-most vets probably aren't hanging around on Yahoo! Answers ;)

It can but I doubt that in this instance anything will go wrong. In matters like this it is best to wait and watch. If the dog stops eating, becomes lethargic then take the animal to the dogtor. Vetrinarian in mature language. Sugars, are naturally bad for dogs. So are potatoes, onions, chocolate, cooked bones, chicken/turkey/duck bones. The problem is that dogs are born scavengers. They are born with the instinct to eat whatever they can get they're maws and paws on. We cannot train that part of the animal out of it. They will always be on the lookout for scraps or a garbage banquet. It looks like you have to keep an extra vigil about your dogs basic instinct. Watch the dog for the next day or two and if the hairy cur doesn't behave well in the active manner the wee mutts do? Go see a vet. All the best.

It is no worse than if you swallowed gum. It will all come out in the end. Dogs have an especially high acidic count in their stomach and can digest quite a bit. Raw meat, etc. while not recommended, is still pretty safe for a dog. I would take the gum away, make sure not to make that mistake again, and just wait for it to come out in the morning. No need to go to pieces. He will survive.

Gum can be just as dangerous to a dog as it is to a human. As long as he didn't choke on any of the gum, he will probably get it out of his system after a while. If he is experiencing weird indigestions or something like that, then you should take him to the vet to check if any of the gum has stuck to his small intestine or any of his other organs.

Watch him, but don't worry. He can digest more than you know. It should not cause you a lot of worry. Still watch him for now, and if the situation changes call your Vet.

If it is sweetened with Xylitol, it is highly toxic to dogs. This sweetener causes their blood sugar levels to plummet. If it IS Xylitol, get him to the Vet ASAP, it is an emergency.

I wouldn't worry about it. I'm sure he'll be fine. I wouldn't give him gum on purpose or anything, but this time will be fine.
