my dog is 3 and a half years old.. she is a sweet dog that is very protective... every time she is around people she licks and licks and licks them... i thought it was sweet of her... i always said to people its better than growling at people... she doesnt jump, just licks to the annoying point... how do i get her to stop... i try to stop her and tell her enough every time.... but it doesnt seem to work.... anyone have any ideas?? thanks!!!
ps she is a rottie, so its not a small little lick, its a huge lick...

Our 20 year old Aussie Cattle Dog (Rain) is still alive and we can't believe it! She is really very healthy but she is blind in her left eye and that's it. We have a 13 year old black Labrador male (Bobi), and a 9 year old Border Collie female (named Jesse). They're really good pets but I want a puppy of my own. I have always wanted a German Shepherd or a Boxer but my mum always tells me that if we spend $700 on a new dog, if something happens to Rain, we won't be able to afford any surgery or medication. I'm 15 and I have a part time job and I work 5 hours on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday so I said that I will pay for 3/4 of the price and I will pay for everything else, like shots, bed etc. The life span of a normal Aus Cattle Dog (Blue heeler) is only 14 so what's going on with Rain?
Has anyone ever heard of a heeler living this long? And yes, she is spayed now (like all of our dogs) but she had an accidental litter of 4 pups when she was 8 months old.

I have had my kitty (Nola) for about 5 days. I got here from a home where she was never held and kept inside a dark room. It was pretty sad the windows were borded up and they only turned on the light when they would come in and drop off a water dish and food. She is apro6-7 weeks. I read other posts and started her off in the bathroom and then moved to the rest of the house. She has gotten better especially with me. but as soon as we break a bond of me holding her. i.e. She is more than 2 ft away and I reach down to touch or pet her she hisses. I have been letting her socialize on her own terms but I really want to do everthing I can to make her a social cat. Thanks for your help.

Can any one out there tell me if that law proposed in Ca. managed to get passed........I was told that they where trying to get ALL pits or pit look alikes put down regardless..............ie the BSL...... I have tried to find this out for sure but not really very clear if it got passed.

Reason is that I have a pit who is the biggest softie in the world [unless you break in lol lol] and if it got passed there then it may just travel into my state.

I was invited to the Iditarod in Alaska this March with a friend, but I don't think that I am eligible to compete in this race myself, and this race lasts about ten days.

So, in my time spent waiting for the racers to show up to finish in Nome, I want to do some sled dog racing of my own. I don't have a dog of my own, but the neighbor girl has a Havanese, and I know that she would let me use it.

Her Havanese has short, stubby legs, and it has a lot of hair in its eyes. I would assume that since the limbs are short, this dog would most likey have good circulation compared to a dog with long limbs. Also, the hair would keep the snow out of its eyes.

I would like to make the Havanese the first member of my sledding team if it won't excessively endanger its life.
