PS - If it's a female dog, not sure why you would want a manly name. Especially if your Mom is already outnumbered. But if that is the case, give her a formal girl name with a manly nickname. See below...
How about Max, short for Maxine. Or Charlie, short for Charlotte. Or Nickie, short for Nicolette. Or Joey, short for Josephine. Or Sammy, short for Samantha. Something like that.

How about naming her after a food like Carmel, or Chocolate. Or just a name like Abbey, Abbi, Daisy, or Chloe.
