My male dog was fixed about a month ago and he continues to hump things. I know that it is a dominance issue, but he also ejaculates some sort of fluid. Is this possible even though they have removed his testicles?

Are you sure it's not pee? Like he's getting excited and peeing. I wouldn't think he could ejaculate anymore.

Moonfairy is correct - men are not castrated when they get a vasectomy. The vas deferens is cut and tied. Totally diffferent from being neutered!! This is why human males can still ejaculate afterwards. There is a slight chance the dog can still produce pre-ejaculate but not very likely. It's most likely urine from getting excited and dominant since animals spray to show territory.

It is impossible for a neutered dog to ejaculate unless he still has one or both testicles..

Woohoo is incorrect and I doubt is a vet assistant with the answer she just gave! A vasectomy in a man does not remove the testicles, it is completely different than being castrated.

Most animals...to include humans continue to ejaculate semen for up to 6 months....after being fixed. Thats why you need to keep him away from females, because he can still do it. But this too will pass. The dominance issue is another story but he will eventually mellow out once the testosterone in his system is depleted.

A male dog still has a prostate even if he is castrated. The prostate produces a liquid for transporting sperm in the ejaculate - so, even if there are no testicles to produce sperm, the prostate fluid is still ejaculated. Woohoo is correct.

Yup. 'Tis possible.
My cat does it occasionally as well. To my fuzzy slippers. Sigh.

Yes it is basically the same concept as a man having a vasectomy, he can still ejaculate there is just no actual sperm in the semen.
