There are several things you could do.
1. Put the teddy bear where she can't get to it.
2. There is stuff that you can buy called bitter sweet. You can get it at a pet store and basically all you do is spray it on the bear. then when she goes to lick it, it will taste really bitter and she will stop. you will want to spray the stuff on there for a while before she realizes that every time she licks it it will taste nasty, but it should work.
3. You can either call or go to your vet and get a professional opinion, but that wouldn't really be neccessary.

Good Luck!

There are products you can buy at a pet store... basically, spray cans that smell so bad that your cat won't go anywhere near your teddy bear. Of course, at that point you probably won't want to go anywhere near your teddy bear either.

You could teach it a lesson by pouring a little chili powder on the bear. When your cat licks it, it's tongue will burn and (hopefully) it will learn it's lesson. But that's kind of mean...

Personally, I keep a squirt gun handy and spray my cats with water anytime they do something they shouldn't be doing. It's harmless, both to the cat and the surrounding environment, but they tend to get the idea after a few shots.

how cute!!! She obviously knows that it's your favorite teddy and wants to bond with it by grooming. If you don't want her to wash it you really have to put it away so she can't have it. How about offering her a catnip toy to get her interested in that instead of your teddy bear?

Whenever she tries to "bathe" teddy spray her with water. It is the best way to get them to stop. Never hit your cat. Instead the cat will live in fear If so!!

Although I find this kinda funny, I see where you're coming from. There is a product at most pet stores that I have found very helpful. It is a kind of spray that you apply to anything you want your pet to stay away from. It affects their scent glands with an odor that they find foul, thus warning them to stay away. It worked for my puppy, and I'm positive it will work for you. Good lukc!

Because it smells like you or him and cats lick things they love. Plus licking or bathing is a self stimulation for pets; it makes them feel good. There's no harm so I wouldn't worry about it.
