in some cities they are. you better watch out or they'll eat your kid's face off. ok not really but thought i'd throw that out there before someone said it as a serious answer. they're great pets if raised and trained right. and how funny afraid of cats. personally i'm scared of the little things too. cats are mean as hell.

Do they pack two against one when they fight?
Can your brother handle them when they put thier heads together as a pack?. I mean physically.
THE GIANT LAP DOG.
I had a beast of a mastiff, about 90kg pure muscle. What I learned about it is what i got from registered breeders/clubs.
My dog grew up alone with me for 4 years before I got married. never accepted my wife or kids when they came along.
1: He was not bothered with anything that was smaller than he was, he did however have a problem with kids which he could look in the eye and all other animals at the same eye height level.
2: He would take a long time to get aggressive and once his hair was up it took a long time to get him to stand down-who ever or what ever cheesed him off would not be forgotten and when ever that person would return he would not let them out of his sight.
3:Of the people that he did attack were people that were out to harm my home, they will attack and then pin you down, only if you fight them (panic) then you will get hurt. It is a submissive thing I suppose
4: Very trusting and understanding animals- they sulk and expect to be treated human.
5: They were bread as personal protectors for game rangers.
6: Always have either you dog or your kids within eye shot, if both are missing or it gets quiet you should look to find out why.
Warm place to sleep-good food-clean water-walk them a lot to keep their social skills up to scratch for them to be able to interact with other animals.
When the dogs fight do they pack up two against one
No two dogs are the same, I hope that I have not scared you, ths was my expierience over a 12year lifetime. I would do it agian

Unfortunatally some citys make it possible for any dog who will bark at the mailman at the door or chase a squirrel to be considered a dangerous dog... (in other words 90% of the dog population)
Louisvilles new dangerous dog act is enormously restrictive of ALL intact dogs (dangerous or not) to the point you have to notify the city if you plan to take the dog with you when you go to your siblings house across the city for dinner!
I wonder what they are gonna do when hundreds of show dog owners start calling every single weekend.........

No, bull mastiffs are one of the best companion dogs there is. My aunt has one named Fella and he adores her.
It's really according to how the dog is raised. My sister has a pit bull named Pearl and she is so sweet because she was raised to be gentle. Pearl tolerates children climbing all over her.
I like bull mastiffs.

bull mastiffs are by nature friendly dogs. They are very good family dogs. Their size sometimes intimates people but are not dangerous

no theyre not. they are gentle giants. but as with all dogs they have to be socialisied well. i know someone who owns a very friendly bullmastiff and he is so dopey! as long as they are brought up in a good and loving enviroment then they are great dogs to own. most of them dont realise their own size.

no i don't think so. every one i have met has been very friendly. the most danger i was ever in was dew to the fact that every one of them thought it was a lap dog.
