I found this tank on the internet and it can have saltwater in it. I have always wanted a saltwater tank and want to try this tank. The oly problem is that I cant find any type of fish that will live in a 3 gallon tank.

I dont knw if this is the case with my cat whom ive had for about 9 years. He keeps himself very clean and ive never had a problem of smelling any odors or such from him..

But ive noticed this week that theres a horrible smell coming from the cats rear area...Today he came and sat on the bed and then when he went off i saw a small dot of liquid on the bedsheet and it smelled awful...exactly the smell i had been smelling on and off from him this week. I have to take him to the Vet soon anyway he's due for his yearly shots but was wondering if this might be something to do with the anal glands filling up..

We have a 9 and 1/2 year old Estrela Mountain dog who is a very large breed. The life expectancy for larger dogs isn't usually as long as smaller breed and his little mate was put to sleep some months ago. Since then we adopted a slightly younger dog who is full of energy. It's obvious that our older dog isn't as spry and has some trouble sitting or coming up the stairs, but he gets so excited when we play ball or go for walks. We try to limit the amount of playing and walks for him because of his age, but I'm worried that this might have some negative effects on his health as well. I want to give him exercise but am afraid of his body not being able to handle it well. Also, it's difficult to balance our younger dog's energy with our older dog, since they both want to be very active but one is more capable than the other. Sorry to ramble on, but does anyone have any advice?

I've been cycling about 5 days now and my cured live rock is turning a dusty white color in many places. Is that a normal part of the cycle, or should I be concerned?

My husband wants to get a Boxer. She is house trained and spayed. My concern is we have a 5 month old daughter and a 15 month old daughter. Is this type of dog okay for them? I have done a bit of research online but I thought I'd ask and see if anyone can give me advice who actually has experience with this. Will it be hard to get them used to each other? Will it be safe to have my children around the dog in the meantime?

Thanks.

I recently purchased two Guinnea Pigs from PetSmart and they are extremely shy. I know they need time to get used to their new enviroment, and probably use to the new attention that they weren't getting before. How long does it usually take for a Guinnea Pig to really warm up and become affectionate to its owner with normal handling and care?

We often give our dog a special bone or treat from time to time, but he always leave it in an inconveniant location, so when we try to pick it up he starts attacking us, my dog would literally bite your fingers off if you try to grab his bones. Im aware that all dogs have this instinct to be over protective over their food, but is there any training or ways to lessen his aggressiveness?Does anyone else go through this too?

Our power goes out quite a bit and sometimes his water drops 10-20 degrees because his warmer lamp shuts off. He warms back up gradually, but will it hurt him over time?

Can anyone tell me anything about Labs other than what the AKC states, such as personality and do they shed, are they good watch dogs, good apartment dogs, with activity involved? I know they are very active and need to be stimulated in that way, but what about grooming, etc? What makes a better pet a Dobie or a Lab, and same questions in regards to Dobes, thanks in advance..

So whenever i take my daughter over to her house the dog isnt jumping all over the baby or isnt trying to like bite or anything at the baby just cause kids arent that dogs favorite thing. any suggestions? she's thinking about looking into rescueing/adopting one if she can find one she likes but she needs to look for a good breed.

ok i posted previous questions.. but i did not seem to be specific enough. so im starting over.

the problem is between 2 of our dogs that we have had for about almost 3 years now. we bought them togehter and they grew up together. One was spoiled rotten by my daugther because she loves her dog to death, and the other was slightly less paid attention to when she was younger due to her owner [ my son ] being busy with school & stuff. So after a while our family of dogs grew... we aquired 6 dogs total, 5 ours and one that we are sitting for a friend until he is allowed to take it home. So the dog that was neglected at her young age, her name is grass, is the one that is constantly instigating and fighting for all the attention, i understand that this could be the result of her neglection when she was younger but now she is spoiled rotten and refuses to let any of the other dogs get any type of attention at all. she will attack the other female, roxy , constantly, just to instigate

I was walking my 7 year old Australian Silky Terrier near a lake, off the leash. 20 minutes into the walk, a large Bullmastiff came charging from around a bushy area (this was a bush walk area where there is a lot of space and water, like a basin or dam) and knocked my Silky (male, named Benny) over and started a fight with him. As Benny was an older dog and he was already suffering of very MILD elbow dysplasia that he had had since he was 4. The Mastiff was off the leash, had no collar or muzzle and was very aggressive. I did try to seperate Benny and the Mastiff but as the dog was well over 100lb, I was scared for my safety. The owner finally came running to see what was going on as I was yelling. He was holding a leash with a Bulldog pulling on it.
I took Benny to an ER (this was last week) and $4283.98 in vet bills later, Benny died.
Am I liable to pay this or should I be asking the other guy? How much is he liable to pay? What else is am I or he liable for? Please help!
