I have guppies. I feed mine normal tropical fish flakes most of the time. Occasionally I'll throw in some bloodworms or brine shrimp to give them some different sources of nutrients. I've got 16 fish in one 10 gal. tank. 6 adults and 9 juveniles that I've raise myself. There are a lot of good guppy sites on the net that can answer more specific questions for you.

Guppies need a minimum tank of 5 gallons, You can put 2 guppies in a 5 gallon tank. From then on you need an additional 2 gallons per guppy. This is because are very active fish and need plenty of room to swim around and avoid each other when they need to. Otherwise they will harass each other to death because they are such social fish.

You don't necessarily need a filter, but with one you will only have to change water every week. Without one you need to change water once every 2-3 days.

OK I do not reccommend using the inch per gallon rule. There are just too many things is does not account for, like what I mentioned above. Even if you do use the inch per gallon rule, I want to know how you can put 10 guppies in a 10 gallon tank??? Guppies grow to 2 1/2 inches long!!!

I advise a 5 gallon tank for 4 guppies. Make sure they are all male or female because they breed like crazy. They will need a filter of some sorts, tend not to need a heater, and eat regular fish food. They tend to be a schooling and social fish, and if you want to mix with other types of fish youll have little luck.

You can keep guppies in a tank as small as a half gallon. I wouldn't recommend it though. For most aquariums, figure six guppies per gallon. Any quality dried food will be fine for them. They'll be happy if you include live plants.
If you use a bowl, live plants will provide oxygen. An aquarium for guppies should use a under-gravel filter. These filters won't suck your pets or their babies into the unit and will keep the water clear for a year. Change about 1/4 of the water at least once a month.
Don't mix them with larger fish as they are easily 'bullied'.
Have fun!

They mostly eat flake food, but will also eat frozen brine and frozen bloodworms. They do need a filter, and a temp of 72 to 78 degrees. I add marine salt with mine( they are almost brackish) and they flourish. Use the basic rule of an inch of fish per gallon..so a ten gallon could hold about ten guppies. JUst keep in mind that if you get males and females, you will have babies constantly. If you are not capable of making extra room for the babies, then I would suggest just getting males. If there is no female, they will get along and they are more coloful anyway. HTH

give each guppy at least a litre of space in the tank and they eat fish food.
They are warm water fish and give them rocks, plants and maybe a little tunnel.
