Is it bad to give your puppy food that is meant for older dogs? I'm thinking it causes stomach upset in my friend's dog.

Stick with puppy food only b/c puppies need the extra nutrition and dietary needs. Wait till their atleast 6 months before giving him adult dog food.

It is not good to give a puppy dog food and worse don't give an adult dog puppy food for very long after it's older. Puppy food has nutrients that a puppy needs for a good start but my chihuahua was fed puppy food for years because she was tiny my ex thought she needed smaller food and she ended up losing all her teeth from lack of nutritional needs for an aging dog.

YES, it is bad. It doesn't contain the right amount of protein, nutrients, vitamins a growing pup needs.. giving a pup adult food can also stunt it's growth literally.
