There is a chemical looking film floating at the top of the tank, and the tank is really foggy. My initial set-up, I used Aqua Safe-Water Conditioner, waited 3 days till I put my fish in. I have 3 Africian Cichlids Island Johanni's. I was also told to put in Aquarium Salt, and when the water got foggy to put in a Water Clairifier. Now reading similiar questions and answers, the only thing that everyone has in common is not to use any chemicals except the water conditioner! So I'm not quite sure how to fix this problem, nor do I want my fish to die! Please Help!!

What medications can I give my dog until I can get him in to see a vet? I have advil, ketoprofen, and tramadol. He is very old. I think he might be suffering from hip dysplasia too...Any suggestions?

He's a small dog. not anymore than 8 #. Schauzer mix.

The vets are closed for the holidays. Live in rural area. No housecalls.

She vomited and had diarhea for a bit, but she is hypoglycemic and had a reaction. We got her blood sugar up by rubbing honey on her gums but she doesnt want to eat. I put chicken broth in her eukenuba and she won't eat it. She is feeling better (about 10 hours since she vomited last), but seems weak. Are we in the clear toxicity wise? I will dropper feed her if she doesnt eat or drink soon I'm worried about dehydration...any suggestions would be helpful. I don't have much money for a big vet bill this close to christmas. Thanks.

I have a Terrier/Chihuahua mix; she is six years old. The vet says she needs to lose about two pounds; following the vet's instructions, I changed her food portions. But, she is still hungry, really hungry. She constantly sniffs the kitchen floor looking for crumbs; if I leave my plate unattended she will/has found a way to get to it. She is so hungry, I really wonder if she is getting enough food. Her max weight should be 7 lbs, she weighed 8.8. I feed her twice a day; 1/4 cup dry with 1 tsp wet, each time. Could I be starving her?

I recently purchased an Albino Oscar. He looked fine in the tank at the pet store, but now that I have him at home he's acting quite strange.

Any time the light comes on or if he sees me enter the room he immediately sinks to the bottom of the tank and seems to play dead.

What's wrong?

I just got a 2 month old pup for early christmas present..
i dont know how to make him go to the bathroom outside, he was going to poop in the carpet when i caught him i took him outside quickly and he did it there.. but now he peed in the kitchen.. how do i make him go outside?

Latley there has been a stray dog comming to our house. A (this is my guess) male I think Akita/husky mixed with something smaller. He is really quite sweet.
I called the # on his tag and the man answered. I asked him if he was missing a dog. He said that he was there when he left for work but not to tie him up or anything.
So the dog came back.
He always comes at night and sends our spayed female dog into a mad barking spell.
We had food out there for our dog and he ate it so fast! Do you think he is being neglected or is just a dog that likes to eat alot? We want to get my brother a dog for X-mas and he likes that dog. Since the dog keeps comming back should we ask the man if we can have it? I know that sounds a bit rude to the man but it just keeps comming back and always eating.

Abigail has just been standing and looking a bit depressed. Though she will eat some things she likes (mealworms, sesame seeds) she seems to have lost interest in layers pellets (her crop feels quite empty). Her droppings are loose and yellowy but as she isn't eating much there isn't much of them. She has been tried with yoghurt but doesn't like it much. She hasn't been sneezing. Her Eglu mate has recently moulted and is quite perky. Abigail is showing no sign of moulting. Both have stopped laying and have slightly floppy combs. They are about two and a half years old. The weather is very cold lately.

We just bought a house, one of the bedrooms smell like cat piss sooo bad. one of our neighbors new the previous owners and she told me that her 3 cats were locked up in this bedroom. we have tried everything. we even ripped up the old carpet but it still smells. it is really bad. anyone have a solution?
