If your cat at six months of age is acting like a complete lunatic then I would suspect she is in heat. Does she howl and meow AT THE TOP OF HER LUNGS constantly?
Bear in mind, too, that it is quite normal for six month old kittens to run around without touching the floor and all that. Enjoy her playfulness before it dissolves into indifference characterized by hours of napping...
Now, to your problem...you can discourage your cat from destroying things by making a loud and sudden noise. The proverbial hand clap followed by a firm "NO!" will get her to immediately stop what she's doing. There is also the magazine toss and the water sprayer. The idea is to startle (lightly). However, do not ever ever EVER hit her!

CF_ answered it well, but I wanted to add a footnote. She is just a kitten and she will grow out of some of it in time, but I realize that doesn't help you a lot right now. For some of her behaviors, get a small spray bottle and fill it with plain water. When she climbs your tree or attacks the dog spray her with the bottle while telling her strongly NO! Your tone will affect her more than what you're actually saying. ANd the water bottle is much more humane than other methods of behavior modification.
Good luck.

Patience! 6 months is teh naughtiest time for kittens!Say no whenever she does something bad, grab her and take her to her toys or climbing tree. Things will get better with age and spaying.

Take the yarn she is supposed to use a toy and crochet a nice little cat harness. Attach the cat harness to that scratching post. You can have fun for hours watching her "bungee" jump.
I suggest a cat carrier. Cats will calm and sleep for many hours. Confine her to her carrier when you're not around to supervise.

I had the same problem with one of my male cats, when he was a kitten. We referred to him as "The Cat from Hell". We could not find a way to control him. He finally calmed down when he got older (1 year).
Sorry I couldn't offer a real solution. Good luck.

Patience is the key. She's just being a kitten right now. If she's not spayed, by all means spay her. That will help, but in the end it's patience and time that will calm her.

As it grows older it may slow down somewhat. Most people like an active cat, i do because they are fun to watch, and it is a sign of good health.

when you got her did you not realize she was a kitten?? and that kittens are playful??
its time to spay her and she will grow out of some of her silliness in time...
toys - you need to have lots of toys and ROTATE them - meaning some are hidden for 2 weeks or so.. when you bring out those toys she will renew her interest in them - honeysuckle toys are EXCELLENT!!..
keep cat nip toys to a minimum
provide cat furniture and encourage use of it by moving it around or even laying it down for a few days...
