My neighbors had a similar thing happen. There was a chow mix that kept coming over to our neighborhood, and the little girl next door really bonded with the dog, to the point that every time she took the dog back to her owners, she would leave again and end up right back in our neighborhood. The dog's owners actually asked my neighbor if she wanted to keep the dog. They didn't have as much time for her, and it was obvious she wasn't happy at home, so my neighbor said yes. That dog has not left my neighbor's yard once since they adopted her. So I say, it is worth a shot to ask the man. The worst he could say is no. Dogs know what they want and need better than people do!

I would ask the owner if he is willing to give it away. I used to feed my neighbors dog because they wouldn't and they asked me if I wanted it. I really didn't since I already had three Dobermans, but I took it any how since it was being neglected.I also have another neighbor who owns a Husky that gets out of his yard and comes to my house all the time. Of course I always feed and water it. The owner asked me if I wanted it but I truly don't have room for any more dogs. If I had a bigger place I would take it. I still go to that dog's yard and feed it. It makes me sick when people gets these dogs and don't take care of them or don't want them any longer. Good luck and Merry Christmas to you.

i think that if the dog keeps returning then the owner has no right to own the dog! it seems to like you a lot! one way to find out is to call the pound have them pick it up and they will hold it for a extended amount of time. if the guy makes no effort to get the dog back then go adopt it! i mean you can't just take or ask for someones dog!!

Just get the dog and give it to your brother and tell the man if he calls that you never saw the dog again . I mean he obviously does not want the dog cause he lets it roam free . I would not even report him cause it will not do any good . good luck and god bless and happy holidays.

in my opinion i think that the owner is a very bad dog-take-carer and that he doesnt not feeds of dogs . the dog was very hungry and always came to your house 4 food and since he is always hungry he would know he will come to your house 4 food. i think u should ask if u r taking care of your dog correctly

sounds like the man is letting the dog run loose so he doesn't have to feed him. to me, he doesn't care about the dog so if my brother wanted him, I'd let him have the dog.

it can't hurt to ask
plus he is guilty of neglect if he lets his dog run free - he could get hit by a car.
if he says no - i would think about reporting him - i don't like to be mean, but it is for the safety of the dog.
