I have always ridden other peoples horses and in lessons, but I have never OWNED my own horse. Now I have the chance. Boarding is $190.00 a month for everything, i keep hearing about vet and farrier fees. How often does the horse need to be seen by a vet, and what does a farrier do? I'd also like to know, how often do these people have to visit the horse and how much do they usually cost? Thanks.

I took my 6 month old 2 pound Singapura in this morning to get spayed, I live in Singapore - a country that hates cats and didn't feel that comfortable with it but they assured me everything would be fine. They called me to tell me her breathing was labored and if I would like them to begin the procedure anyway - I said no (common sense!) and now she's home. She's acting very very drugged and wobbling when she walks and is just being very not herself. I have her in her favorite spot with her favorite towel over her and she just looks pitiful. Is this normal after anesthesia - I'm very worried. Please help!

I just got in town and my "house sitter" has told me that the kitten hasn't eaten in two days. She had to force feed it and then bathed it b/c of the mess created with the feeding. She told me that she may have gotten some water in the cat's ears and that it started "panting" (yes, that sounds odd to me too). At any rate, there are no vets open here but I will take tomorrow. The kitten is very sedated with shallow breathes but is not moving at all--I mean the cat looks dead except for the stomach moving with the breaths. Any advice?

I don't know what to do, it's SO dirty and it had no collar and it's really skinny and I dont think what I should do with it is turn it in, it's too cute. But it's drooling and spitting out bubbles, do you think it ate something bad for it? He's freaking out and keeps trying to bite me, waht do I do?

Why do dogs eat grass sometimes? Is it because they're sick and they eat it to throw up? or is grass a medicine for them and it "cures" whatever they have. I dont remember which one was correct.

My girlfriend thinks her cat dezi is sad that her other cat mommy died of cancer the other day. She points out that Dezi has not been outside in 3 days when he is normally an outside cats. I don't think cats are smart enough to sense death and the couple animals that can are Elephants and Monkeys. Is my argument right ? Just curious

During the summer, I mow my neighbors lawn, and I always buy my dog's dogfood in that time. However, during this season, my parents always end up feeding my dog. It doesn't seem fair. There is no snow to shovel, so that is not an option, but I need ideas for making enough money to feed my dog on my own- my parents COULD pay, but it just seems wrong to me. I am old enough to take care of it myself...

I need something that does not require much time- even though I'm homeschooled, I still spend hours each day doing school. I have the same hours as school kids, so please think about that when answering.

Thank You in advance...

88,000 horses in the US alone were slaughtered for their meat to be shipped overseas!! I'm one of many who are against this, I was just wondering on where all of you stand on this issue. If you are against it please help take a stand to shut these slaughter houses down!!

I have noticed this in the last month or so. Apart from the time that we play with him, or have him wandering around indoors, we leave him outdoors (he seems to want this) as much as we can. We bring him in at mealtimes, whenever he wants to come in, and at night, as he's too young to be left out on his own.
Incidentally, we don't have a cat flap at the door to allow him access in and out when he pleases- this is a rented house we're living in, and the owner will not permit us to install one. His food tray is kept in a large semi-open room with his litter tray and box to sleep in at separate ends.
In the mornings, or when I have to be out for a long time during the day and cannot leave him outside, I find he complains loudly and seems very hungry. His food tray would still be nearly full, but he only starts eating if we stroke him. If we leave the room he stops eating, and wants to come out. I can't always be with him when it's time for him to eat. Why is he doing this?
