My girlfriend cleans her fishbowl in our kitchen sink, seems pretty dodgy to me ie: bacteria etc. Does anybody have any idea on the health imlications of this?

hi i have a 55 gallon tank with 6, 1 - 1.5" assoted african cichlids. (i don't know what kind they are but i know what colors they are) colors - blue, eletric yellow, orange, tiger striped one, green with black stripes, and a albino cichlid. i was wondering how big do they need to be to mate? or how many more days until they'll mate?

alkalinity - 300
nitrate - 20 (safe)

ph - 8.2 temp - 76 F
rocks - about 6 medium size in both corners

I have had cats all my childhood. Now I have a one year old cat who has serious seperation anxiety. If I close my bedroom door and leave him in the living area he will rip up the carpet at the corner of my door until he gets enough pressure to push the door open. When my husband and I leave the house my neighbors say he cries for an hour after we leave. I never thought cats were like this. Does anyone else know why he would be like this and what I might be able to do about it?

Yesterday, my dog was vomitting and had diarhea all day that came out of nowhere. I gave him a Lomitril pill that the vet had given me once before for him. There was no obvious reason for this. He didn't eat anything new. I gave him a lomotril pill which the vet had given him once before for same symptoms. If he wasn't better after that we were going to the animal hospital. It held him all night. Today he is not vomitting anymore and has no diarhea but still had his usual 3 - 4 bowel movements so far (it's evening) which were normal. He still was not eating so I boiled some white chicken breast. He was starved and devoured it "like an animal"! That was an hour ago and he seems happy now. He hasn't thrown up all day and his movements are formed. Question: without eating for 1.5 days and having diarhea all day, how can he still have significant bowel movements the next day? This can't be coming from any food? What could have caused this since he had nothing different to eat

Have had a pleco for about 2 years. 3 weeks ago, he stopped eating anything (no algae wafers, no zuccinni, no fish food) at all and is losing color and stomach is sinking in. Other fish are all fine. Water tested fine (took it to aquarium store) as well. What would suddenly cause this?

too young and an amazon might be too dangerous. i would prefer a sun conure and/or a quaker parrot. anybody has had any experience with young kids and birds? i know training is necessary but i heard amazons are especially temperamental. my kids are good with small birds(budgies and lovies) but they are tame. i wanted an african grey but heard they are too high maintenance. any advice, suggestions or even corrections of what i have heard will be appreciated. thank you and happy holidays.

I know to get her spayed, but I can't seem to find a vet that will do a spaying with her in heat for less than 600 bucks. (That buys a lot of pampers! :) ).

All this blood is gross, how long does the bleeding itself last? What can I expect overthis time of her being in heat? I've only had boy dogs who were neutered? Do they get pregnant easy?
