Bleeding Heart is a North American flower essence for those "forming relationships based on fear or possessiveness, emotional co-dependence"; "breaking undue emotional attachemtns to the caretaker..."
That can be ordered from: www.fesflowers.com. I would get the $10.80 size - you get four times as much as in the $6.60 bottle. Check with a health foods store as they may carry it.
You shake the bottle very well, put three to four drops on the cat's fur between his ears. Treat LAVISHLY, the essences increase in power the more frequently they are used. It is not the amount but the frequency that counts. Use the bottle up! What else will you use it for?
You can probably apply it three times - in the AM, when you return from work, then before you retire for the night. If you know where the cat naps most of the day put four or five drops on a small cloth close to him.

My cat seems seems to fret when I am gone as well. She will yowl in attempts to find me, she will sit at the door waiting for me to come home from work. She is always "right there", even having to go into the bathroom with me.
I am not much of a cat lover, but this cat is really part of my routine now, and I am out of sorts when she isn't there waiting for me to come home, or if she isn't there at bed time.
She is like this with me and only me. When I am not home, she will snuggle with me mom...but the minute I walk in the door, she comes running to greet me.
The only thing I can think of why she is like this is because she was abused prior to coming to me. She as actually tramatized as a weanling kitten first off. Found her in a co-workers truck--in the spare tire well UNDER the truck! She had rode here for over 45 miles. (Hence her name Freeway) A lady at work ended up taking Freeway home and a year later she started having "potty" problems and this led to Freeway being abused by being thrown outside or down into the basement. I took the cat after the lady said she was just going to go drop her off on some country road.
So this must have been a lot for this cat to experience for the first year of her life, and she bonded so closely to me for being her savior--twice!! So, now 5 years later, here I am with this cat constantly under foot and stressing out when I am gone.
I can't offer any advice on how to help her through it, cause basically she has to deal with it in the way that she can...which usually results to her "hiding" out in until I come around.

Well I have 5 cats and they cannot stand it when I shut my door to my bedroom, my Siamese will start digging and well he put a hole in the carpet where I use to live. You may want to ask your vet and see if you got another cat if this would cure his loneliness. He may need another cat to keep him company. I can assure you that a 2nd cat is really no more expensive than one.

Wow. Your cat seems to have a lot of separation anxiety! Maybe you should consider getting him a feline buddy. Ask your vet what they think.
I used to think that my cat was a little nuts, 'cause if me & my husband are gone for more than a day, she starts to lose her hair. If we have a friend or relative feed her while we go on vacation, we always come home to a house full of hair balls, and a skinny looking cat (as soon as we get home, she stops losing hair and promptly gets all fluffy again). Who knows? Cats are funny little buggers. Iv'e stopped trying to figure them out.
