well I'm a true goldfish lover i have tons! goldfish can live up to 40 yrs! with the proper care and nutritious food they can have a long life. i feed mine fresh vegetables, flake, krill, and some fruit. a goldfish in a bowl is just murder. they tend to live only a few months maybe a few weeks. because of the ammonia they produce they need tons of room. goldfish get huge! my orandas will get atleast 12 inches! and big around. i hope this info helps! ..jewels

they can live 60 years, but most only live 10-15 because the temperature of the water must be in the low to mid 60s for the fish to not be suseptable to fungal infections. if you want them to live a long time, get a tank refridgerator, people typically do not want to invest that much money in a common gold fish though even if mid 60s is its natural habitat, gold fish are also among the dirtiest fish you can own and, therefore, need a filter larger than tropical fish do in order to keep the ammonia level down

There is no definite answer no, mainly because it all depends on the conditions the fish is living under. There are guidlines to the age where goldfish live to which is about 2-5 years, these are under ideal conditions. Good luck.

no, cuz there are alway the fish that die in two days(mine), but ive known fish to live up to three years.
