My parakeet's leg was stuck between the door of his cage and the lock, I managed to free him but his leg has a "scrape" (not bleeding) and his leg band is at the base of his claw. It's stuck, he can't move his claw or grab things. What should I do???

I changed my young tortoise's diet after doing some major research on sites such as sulcatastation, etc. and ordered the oxbow hay and grew some grass from seeds that I ordered off the internet. She has not touched her hay in over a week. I broke down from my "tough love" approach and gave her a piece of romaine lettuce and she ate it in about 2 minutes. I have tried wetting the hay down and other suggestions, but she refuses to each the hay or the weed sprouts. I need some fresh ideas.

I have reason to believe that my 60 yr old neighbor poisoned my dog.
About a week ago he died. This is what happened.
He wouldn't get up; he was laying out in the yard. He wouldn't come when we called him. Finally my boyfriend went out there got him and brought him inside. I gave him a bath and sat him on hte couch. About five minutes later i walked back in there and there was diarhea all over. I picked him up and sat him outside. There was a trail of it on the floor all the way from the couch to the door. We went to a baby shower and when we came back, he was outside, in the back of the yard, and his eyes we open and we thought he was dead. He wasn't. Anyway, he was stiff, as if he were dead, but he was breathing and his heart was breathing. We picked him up and sat them on the porch, he was still leaking the diarhea. We stood him up and he was looking at his water bowl, looking like he wanted some. He fell over. Then about 5 hours later he was dead. If you need more info, ask.

my female rat terrier was left alone with my mini pin. now i wasnt home all the time. she was in heat and i dont know for sure if he got her. she is showing all the signs of pregnancy.
She keeps trying to make her a bed out of anything and she has got milk but i cant find any babies at all. if she is pregnant then they will be born sometime in the next week and a half by my guess. now my mini pin is really really small so they might be just really really little babies or she is having a false pregnancy. i have raised chihuahuas and brought a many of pups into this world but i have never had one with maybe a false pregnancy.
only serious answers needed no silly wise cracks please this is my pet and companion i am asking about.

its not mites. i have a bird and 1 4 1/2 year old rat in the same room and theyre fine. i dont think he has a fungal infection. so i need what it may be and how to fix it. i really dont want all this crud about rats being horrible. if thats all you have to say than bite me. i also dont really have a ton of $$ to spend on expensive vet treatements. thanks everyone!!!!!

I have an 11 month old male Siberian Husky who is very playful, jumpy, and very happy. This past weekend he hasn't been the same, he was throwing this past Sunday about 6 times. I took him to the vet to see what was wrong with him but they said he was fine. No signs of pain, fever or soreness around the stomach area. The vet gave medication for him which are Sucralfate (1gm) and Cephalexin (500mg) and said if he keeps vomiting take him back in. He hasn't since Sunday but now I am concerned about him not eating, he will drink but only a little and when I try to give him food he resists it. I tried everything, but he won't eat any food I give him. I am starting to worry about him. Is this normal? It's been 3 days and he hasn't eaten anything except the pills we have been giving him. I'm desperate! A little advice please.

I am going to be buying some land and I will be building a 2 new structures(an indoor arena, and the boarding facility itself). i want to be able to have about 20 horses or more. how much land should i be buying? how big should my building be? i want 20-10x12 and 1-14x18 foaling stall, or however big a foaling stall should be, a tack room, a feed room, a small bathroom about 8x8, and a lounge (for the horse owner to hang out and relax (20x20). how big should the indoor arena be? oh and also, there will be a small office and waiting room. i want room to keep the hay and bedding also. so should my barn have a second floor for the hay and bedding or could i fit everything onto a one floor barn? this is very important to me because it is a lifetime decision, so please answer well! i have my contracts and forms so don't worry about that. also, if you were boarding your horse with me, how long would you want to drive to get there? 30 minutes?15 minutes?

hi, i wanted to find a hummingbird's nest, because my mom has ben looking for one for ages! do you know where to look for the ruby-throated hummingbird's nest? I wanted to give her the gift of an abandoned nest, becuase she is completely obssessed!!!! Is there a tree that the hummingbird's nest in? I want to give her the perfect christmas present, and if you can give me some places to look for them, i should be able to find a nest before christmas.
