hehe shes had it and you missed it ,normally their little bits swell up ,and they lick it alot ,or like mine ,she scapes her bum along the floor hehe gets a bit itchy see

bring a bot dog around, he'll let you know when she's in heat. J/K She probably had it and took good care of herself so you didn't know. Most dogs have their first heats within 9 months or so. It can take wolves, the ancestors of the dog, up to 18 months for their first heat, so a longer wait on a dog can be an OK thing. As in not a big deal. Good luck though.

Sometimes the first heat is a short one with minimal symptoms. Often owners miss it. It is called a "white heat". Toy breeds often don't come into heat until a year...or even a little longer..for the first time.

Some dogs have their first heat as late as 14-15 months. Don't worry now ... it'll probably happen soon enough. Once it starts, you'll probably be happy as soon as it ends.
