You need to call around until you find a veterinarian that specializes in bird care and take him to the vet ASAP. Don't try to remove it yourself, it will only hurt him worse. Just treat him normally, give him his regular food (fresh fruits and vegetables plus some seeds, I hope!), make sure his water is clean and GET HIM TO THE VET. When you have him in the car cover his carrying case with a towel so he won't be scared-- leave it open a bit so he can see you.
I hope this was helpful!

removing a leg band could be probably risky, so purely get a vet to do it (an avian vet if achieveable). There are leg band applicators for putting them on, i've got under no circumstances heard of something to take them off. often it incredibly is reccomended to under no circumstances eliminate a leg band except it incredibly is hurting the fowl in some way. they arrive in available in the experience that your fowl escapes (like mine on the 2d :( ) and to perceive persons. EDIT: Yay! I have been given my escaped cockatiel back. Sooo happy! the guy who caught him... the reason she desperate to capture him contained in the 1st place replaced into because of the fact she observed the leg band and for this reason realised that it may actually be a puppy. Yay!

Best bet is to take him to the vet b/c leg bands are tricky and if you try with anything it may break or cause the birb trauma! If you have a vet it should not be expensive at all! Hope he gets it fixed- claws are their fingers to us!

If a vet is not available you might also want to try a petstore that sells birds. They should have the proper equipment to remove it and might be willing to help you out.

an AVIAN VET is your best option or else find a bird BREEDER that would also have the suitable tools and Knowledge to remove it for you.. DONT try and remove it yourself with wire cutters unless you want a legless bird *sob :(

You need to get your little birdie to the vet and have the band removed.
If you don't have a vet, you can find one in your area at http://aav.org/vet-lookup

yes, please take your bird to a vet. you can find an avian certified one near you here: www.aav.org/vet-lookup Please don't try to remove it yourself because you might make it worse. So does that mean he can't perch? because that is not good at all. if he is traumatized, try to keep him warm (hot water bottle wraped in a towel, heating lamp etc.) and calm until you can get him to a vet. Good luck!
