He is making me nuts, even as I type this he walks up and licks my elbow when I'm on the computer. He sleeps in my bed and licks the blankets until they are soaked. I love him dearly but it's gross, and I can't stand it.

The cat is 18 years old and has been neglected as far as love and affection. She is arthritic and sleeps all the time but she does eat, drink and use the litter box. I have devoted a whole bedroom to this cat and give her alot of petting and affection every time I go into that room which she really likes. She won't go any farther than just outside the bedroom and into the hallway a little bit. I have taken her to the vet for a check up and shots, etc. The vet says she is just an "old gramma kitty" but in relatively good health for her age.

My question is - how long do cats generally live? She is already 18 for pete sake. When does there come a time that you put a cat down?

We have been together for 2 years, and have lived together for 6 months. She has 'owned' this dog for 4 years (a very fat Boxer/Beagle mix - 70 pounds). I have a cat that she bought for me as a Christmas present last year (not at my request). My current apartment doesn't allow dogs, so her dog has been living with her parents for 6 months. Even before she lived with me, she had to take her dog to her parents for weeks at at a time to go on trips, work, or come visit me in my neighboring city. Now her parents are moving out of thier house and into a townhouse (renting) that doesn't allow pets. To accomodate this dog, we have to move into an apartment that allows them.

I DO NOT like dogs. The smell, mess, noise, work....nothing about a dog pleases me. Make me sneeze and itch too. I know I am really going to hate living with this dog. Don't want to resent my GF over this, b/c I really love her.

Her aunt would love to take the dog (has land) GF won't part with the dog.

I am talking about the typical tear stains - reddish / brown - that appear around and below the eyes/nose of my white persian long hair ... I have looked online and in pet stores and have seen powders (mostly for show cats I think) or liquids ..... was wondering if anyone had any recommendations - available in the UK please!

I have a 5 month boxer and he does not listen at all. We call him for like 20 mins before he will answer to his name. My husband wants to do a shock collar but i would perfer other options to ry before that. We have already tried treats everytime he answers but he still ignores us.

I live on a canal, so sound carries. One of my neighbors has a cockatoo.Even the breeders warn buyers of their "nails on the chalk board "screech. I feed lots of birds and love animals but this bird drives me and my husband nuts. I've spoken with the owners but they say their bird has as much right to be outside as we do.The owners put the bird outside, go into their home, close the windows and doors and turn up the music. I've called the police but there is nothing they can do. Any suggestions? thanks...

I have posted a question about my scottie whippet cross - sweet natured dog...wondering if there were any others out there like her and have been told that she is a mut, that the mixture of scottie whippet is unlikely(although the mating between her pedigree scottie mum and roving whippet dad was well witnessed!)that she will be stubborn and angry etc. The few approving answers made up for all the rubbish, but still.....
All I really wanted to do was to celebrate the sweet natured, delightful little person who is snoring gently at my feet at the moment. I have found dog question answerers to be cynics before. Why on earth does this happen? Relax all of you and just love, support and care for your pets, who are a delight and a blessing.

I have been wanting one of these cuties and been reading a lot about them lately. But I've noticed that some have up ears, while others have down ears and some have fluffier faces, while other's look as if they're missing a chin. I want a fluffy "fu fu" with up ears. Is it all in the grooming, or are they're just different ones?

I very much dislike dogs. As a kid I was very allergic to dogs, and I am still a little allergic to this day. I don't like the smell, the noise, the mess, or the work associated with them. We will be renting, so we have much fewer options for places to live, and it will be more expensive (pet deposits, monthly fees, etc). I know in my heart I am going to resent the dog immediately, and then my girlfriend later on. I work full time, and have meetings, etc most evenings. She will be working full time and finishing school. Aside from my dislike of dogs.... I don't think we'll have a lot of time to take care of it, and the extra money could be put to better use. Her parents won't take her anymore, but the dog could live in Georgia with my girlfriends aunt.... they have a 3500 sqft house and 4 acres or property.

She knows how I feel about dogs and could care less... she just HAS to have it.

What should I do!?!?

My female started "dripping" this morning. I would leave her outside but we have dogs that wander around here and I don't want puppies, however, I have a baby in the house, and I don't want my carpet and furniture to get messed up, from her bleeding, is there anything I can put on my dog to "catch" the drips? or will she just chew it off? I don't have the money right now to get her fixed, it will get done, just can't until tax time.

We were told about 2-3 months ago he may not be getting enough calcium, so we started giving him a bigger variety of food and putting calcium on it. It seemed to help at first but he still doesn't use them very well. He is about a year old give or take. What are we doing wrong? We try to keep his cage warm enough. Any suggestions?
