Say: "Hey buddy, thanks for killing my cat! No seriously. I didn't like him that much anyway." You obviously have to use a very sarcastic tone.

Well, this is not something I would usually approve of. Your poor cat! I am glad he is alive and will recover. But I have been told that no-one in their right minds deliberately would run over an animal. The driver of the car needs to sincerely apologise to you. You have to forget about the cost of the vet as this is one of the responsibilities of pet ownership and you should focus on the positive - that your cat did not die and will (Hopefully) be fine.
If this perp. is so arrogant and unfeeling that you feel compelled to get into a verbal fight over this, you can always go and snoop around the parked car, especially the tyres, and when he asks you what d.f. you doing, you start grimacing and explaining "I felt so bad about what happened to your tyres! I was just checking to see how badly hurt they were! I am sure you are going to need a lot of money to fix them up and I really wish I could help. Thing is, I'm a bit short myself, having paid the vet's bill to fix up my cat. So sorry, but am sure you understand."
When, oh when, will these people start to accept that a life of any sentient being is of greater value than a tin can machine?
But maybe he is just feeling so bad that he couldn't avoid your cat? In which case, let it be.
At least wait a few days before you decide to do anything, and avoid him and his girlfriend until then.

Well, I can understand how your comment, although funny, could hurt his feelings. Especially if the cat incident was an accident on his part.
While the kids may know you were joking, it still probably makes him feel horrible about something he probably already feels real crummy about to begin with. Especially if he's worried the kids will be afraid of him or think of him as a mean man.

As much as it pains me to suggest it...maybe drop the sarcasm and forget the apology altogether. He probably already feels like a big fat turd.

BUT IF HE DOESN'T ACT LIKE HE'S SORRY for squishing your kitty, well, send him a copy of the vet bill and then sarcastically apologize for exposing him to the kids AS THE JACKASS HE IS!!

cats, unlike dogs, are often left to roam about unsupervised, which make it a bit tricky if, say, a black cat sits on a dark road and gets run over. whose fault is it then. its unfortunate that the cat got run over, but if you were the driver and it all was really an unfortunate accident, then it really is just an unfortunate event. How you react to it is up to you.
If you wish to be sarcastic, thats one thing, if you wish to apologize, thats another. If you try to put the two together, its like trying to cool ice cubes on a fire...
I think you really want an argument so that you can relieve yourself of the anger you feel around your cat being run over. Thats the only logical conclusion i can draw from your intentions. If you wish to resolve a problem, you dont fight fire with fire?
If you feel you've been wronged, inform the police. If you feel you only want to show your anger to the person, then dont be sarcastic, it makes you look the part of the baddie. i'm sorry to hear about your cat (i mean that) however, just be really plain with the person, if you feel the cat needs medical care and the driver is liable for the accident, then call in at the police and they can best inform you how to go about things. the cat which is out without supervision, it could be said to be negligence on your part...try to discuss it with the driver and get him / her to see reason. (usually a nice person would offer to take the cat to the vet etc if they've driven over it, irrespective of whose fault it is) after all , the life of the cat cant be revived if its died, by means of compensation through a lawsuit.

You know it is really nice to hear that someone actually cares about the kids playing on the road, most of the kids today are evil little shites that running them over would do them the world of good so I am sorry to hear your wee kitty got it. As for the apology just let them know that you are thankful that the kitty survived but the chances are if it had been a kid they would have been dead. These people are very Calais if after all these are their kids.

PS forgot to say give my love to kitty xx

Im sorry our family cat caused you so much distress when you ran him over. I also apologise for the fact that when the children saw this they ran into the road to see if he was alright. I admit i over reacted as a parent and shouted at my children to get off the road, after all just because you didnt see our cat in your van mirrors does not mean that you would not see my children.

Once again i apologise!!

Honestly? It's not your problem if the wee shite gets run over. Due to their general lack of respect and distain for anyone over the age of 17, Kids only learn things the hard way nowadays. So if he does get run over and seriously injured (or worse), either way you can take comfort that he won't do it again...
It should be his parents responsability if they could only get out of the pub before closing time and stay off the weed and special brew. It's a tough world out there, let evolution take it's course and we will all be the better for it.

why should you apologise to some moron that's ran over your cat ? But if there is a reason for you to do so you could always say something on the lines of, thanks m8 my cat really suits being a tabby (tyre marks, making it stripey) I do hope that he has not caused you too much stress with your car, I do apologise for the inconvenience that you have had in cleaning the MESS off you car.

Don't you dare go saying sorry to that person. But what i would do is hand the vet bill to them both and ask who's laffing now. They are totally in the wrong,, Tell them there are more bills to came. Wipe that smile of there faces for good

2006-09-26 07:18:59 · answer #9 · answered by chass_lee 6 · 0 0

First off, it's apologize.

Secondly, your cat never would've been run over if you'd had the presence of mind to keep it inside.

And third, no one can teach you how to be sarcastic. You're either born with it or you're not. Don't try to be something you aren't. I'm sure you can come up with something yourself if you just exercise that brain.
