I see pictures of dogs in sweaters from time to time, and I have to wonder: is it even necessary? Don't their coats keep them wrong? Am I asking a ludicously obvious question?

I get annoyed when the animals (3 dogs, 1 cat) jump on our couch because they shed a lot. However, my boyfriend doesn't care and allows them to go where they please. Does anyone else have this problem? I just don't want company to come over and leave covered in fur, however, it won't work if I'm the only one not letting them on the furnature.

I have a 6th month old puppy whose parents are mother(Maltese): 8lbs and father(toy poodle)5lbs. She's a Maltipoo but I'm concerned because she's 10 lbs! She HAD/ maybe still does, got her a booster 2 weeks ago and I heard that worms eat up all their nutrition. Is that why she is getting fat? Because all she's taking in is it's all fat?

I have a dog who chews up everything! We got him in March of this year when he was just a few weeks old. He has since chewed up everything we own...toys, shoes, books, furniture, you name it. We try really hard to keep things put up where he can't get to them but occasionally we will forget and then it is "fun time" for the dog. We've bought every kind of chew toy there is and, strangely, he won't chew on them. I think he does it to spite me! I don't have the money to take him somewhere to be trained. What should I do?

We got a dog from a friend and he had lost hair above his tail and on his back some from stress of being around another male dog. Now he has hair there but he still has dry skin in some places. We feed him dog food that is suppose to help with his skin and coat but he still has it. Does anyone know what else I can do to make this better. He is a German shepherd but he stays in the house a lot so I can't use oil or anything like that.

I just got a dog. I've read some webpages saying different costs about a dog, some speaking of hip dysplasia, surgeries, and things of the sort. They've listed some costs. So far, my dog is fine. But what if he started limping or vomited or something somewhat minor and I wanted to just have him checked out. I would think the first thing to be done would be an X-ray, so I'd like to know, should I have to bring him to a vet for such a problem, about how much should I expect to pay? Thank You.

I am looking to get a puppy, a husky or similar wolf-type breed that is very calm and relaxed, yet not lazy, not humongous, a friendly, companion...Siberian husky was too hyper for me. Any suggestions?

My cat is 4 months old and is getting fixed in a couple weeks. We recently installed doggie doors (for the doggie) but the cat uses them more than the dog. It leads to a backyard with a tall privacy fence. We originally wanted to keep him as an indoor only cat, and still do, but do you think he will try to wonder off if he finds a way out? Should I keep him from going outside all together?

Im getting a tortose in a couple of weeks and have been reading books and site (e.t.c) and am not sure what the actuall requirments are as everything is sayng something different, is there anyone out there that has experiance with torts and can tell me what their set up is like, what is needed (bulbs, supliments). That kinda stuff would be a great help.

Do you believe certain breeds like the Rottweiler and Staffordshire Bull Terrier should be banned?
My boyfriend's family has owned staffies for years and we are against this move. Perhaps a 'vetting' should be introduced by breeders to make sure their dogs don't go to unsuitable homes?
What do you think?

She's 5 years old and just recently started to do this. I work 10 hour days and thought that's why b/c I am not home much with her. I tried getting her that separation anxiety ball to chew on but she hasn't touched it! I went out to get the mail yesterday and she dug in the trash again! In that short amount of time!!!

I got a Betta yesterday for the first time! I love him, and he seems pretty happy--has been active, eating, and investigating his tank. However, I have read so many different things about how often to feed Bettas--everything from once a day to once every couple days to 2 or 3x a week. I got him Betta flakes and freeze-dried krill, and he'll eat both. I just need a sensible answer on how often I really need to feed him! Thanks!

My 6th month old puppy had roundworms 2 weeks ago and got dewormed. I haven't had time to go back and get her a booster, will that be a problem? She already got dewormed 3 times along w/ her vacinations and rabie shots and etc. So I was surprised when she get worms. She doesn't vomit, or have loose stool. The only way i actually KNEW she had roundworms was through her stool. I saw a long spagettie like string thing. Since I took her for her booster, only 2 worms came out. Is she really clear or roundworms or must I actually drive her to the vet again? Now in her stools, I see little yellowish- white chocolate chip looking things. They aren't very big and certainly not long. They are about the size my my little pinky, which is the size of a baby's little pinky nail. Should I be worried? I always open up her loose stool to check for worms, and so far I only see the white/yellowish nail looking things, which I think is paper. She likes to eat paper for some reason.
