I think your best bet is an ad in the local newspaper. Include in the ad that you don't know much about snakes, and would appreciate any local herp club members that could help you find it a home. If you have a local "mom and pop" pet store, visit it and ask if they have a contact number for the local herp society. Any local vets that have experience with reptiles may also have a contact. In the meantime, if you need information on how to take care of it until you find it a permanent home, you can email me at chriso@chrisolsonreptiles.com.

Your local exotic pet shop might buy it depending on what type it is. Some will sell pythons but if it is a reticulated or burmese python some will not even talk to you about it. And selling a pet by mailorder is never a good thing. What if it gets lost in the mail and some carriers like UPS, and Fedex will not ship live animals at all. Put an ad in local paper or check out the pet shops. You can even find reptile rehab places that will give it a good home until they find a suitable home for it. Animal shelter should have listings of local rehab centers for reptiles.

why dont you gave your snake to the pet shop where they willin sell it to somebody that like snakes . or you can sell it to your friends who willin take care of it and keep it for a pet . but if they dont want it then you can also sell it at the flea market instead and put a good price on the snake and see if somebody will buy if off you . or you also put a photo of the snake on the newspapers ads so whoever see it can call you up and take it away .

If you are unable to take care of the animal then trying to sell it is not your best option. There is an rescue center in your area based on your area code: http://www.petsareusrescue.org/contact.html

It is a non-profit, no kill organization that will help find a home for the snake.

All of the above are great answers. I would definitely try your local pet shops. If they don't want it, ask if they know anywhere that would take it. (make sure you speak to a manager, and not someone that might only run the cash register)

The best place to start is you'r local herprtological society. Look on line. be very carefull to make sure it gets a home that knows how to take care of it. Your Herp. society will probably find someone to house it till its adopted.

try putting an ad in the newspaper. If the snake is more important to you than the money, you will lower the price to get it sold.

Also, get in contact with your local animal shelters. If yo'ure willing to foster the snake they can use their resources and listings to help you find him a home. If worse comes to worst, you can always turn him over to a shelter.
