I have a budgie...male...and he's very quiet and timid...not vocal at all...except for like 10 minutes a day...this bird freaks out makes tons of noise and flaps his wings....anyone know what that means?? so confused....lol thanks!

Could be anything, and you haven't given much to go on. If he is your only bird, then you need to spend more time with him. Birds don't like to be alone. They need another bird (but then they won't want you) or, you need to be the birds buddy! He's probably so bored all day and like us, just needs to do something to release all the pent up emotions! Give him lots of attention, and make sure he has lots of toys.

I don't know but let me know when you find out! I have a male baby budgie, he is very timid, but wild, and when he hears birds out side he goes crazy! I feel bad and try to talk softly to him to let him know he is part of my family now.

He's exercising. Our cockatiel does the same thing once a day. It kind of stretches their wings and get the circulation going. When we let her fly around the room on a daily basis, she didn't do this.

HHMMM... thats a tough one without more info...

note the time of day that this happens, maybe something in the environment is scaring him (shadows, flock of birds, neighbors pets, etc).

other than that, birds like to exercise and stretch their wings... it could be his gym routine :)

Is it at a certain time or so? Maybe he hears something at that time that you cant and it is making him anxious and freaking out...not really sure
