I just got a dog. I've read some webpages saying different costs about a dog, some speaking of hip dysplasia, surgeries, and things of the sort. They've listed some costs. So far, my dog is fine. But what if he started limping or vomited or something somewhat minor and I wanted to just have him checked out. I would think the first thing to be done would be an X-ray, so I'd like to know, should I have to bring him to a vet for such a problem, about how much should I expect to pay? Thank You.

In my area it is $60 for the first view and $40 for each additional view. OF course an office visit of about $25 goes along with it, and sometimes there is a anesthesia fee if the x-ray cannot be taken without it. Then there could be a hospitalization fee also.

Cost $100.00 for me to have 1 front leg x-rayed.3 views. Also cost $100.00 to have other dogs hips x-rayed for certification.
But it varies by vet and how many different angles they have to shoot from. Also how long the dog is kept after the x-rays are done cos they mostly knock them out when they take them. Also varies by the area you live in.
