My 6th month old puppy had roundworms 2 weeks ago and got dewormed. I haven't had time to go back and get her a booster, will that be a problem? She already got dewormed 3 times along w/ her vacinations and rabie shots and etc. So I was surprised when she get worms. She doesn't vomit, or have loose stool. The only way i actually KNEW she had roundworms was through her stool. I saw a long spagettie like string thing. Since I took her for her booster, only 2 worms came out. Is she really clear or roundworms or must I actually drive her to the vet again? Now in her stools, I see little yellowish- white chocolate chip looking things. They aren't very big and certainly not long. They are about the size my my little pinky, which is the size of a baby's little pinky nail. Should I be worried? I always open up her loose stool to check for worms, and so far I only see the white/yellowish nail looking things, which I think is paper. She likes to eat paper for some reason.

When you have seen visible worms, or her stool has been tested and is worm/egg positive, she will need the second treatment..the worm's life cycle is such that there were undeveloped worms, as well as the adult worms, so that is why you go back for the second time..to get the newbies before they become adults and leave eggs..
We only have a short window to actually get rid of roundworms, as, as the dog matures, the larva encapsulate, and stay dormant in the muscle tissue...That is why puppies get them from mom..as they come out of the dormancy when maternal hormones are produced..
Tape worm segments appear much as rice in the stool..However, your vet will know from an exam of her stool, if she has tape worm as well..and that requires a different medicine..When you go back , if possible, take a fresh poo from her..You can just scoop a small amount into an old medicine bottle, or such, with a straight top..
If she has ever had fleas, she will likely have tape worms, as well..

Neither round worms or tape worms will make her show signs of illness, until they have colonized...become VERY populated...

Roundworms commonly do not seem contained in the stool (or vomit) till they have a fairly heavy infestation. Vets tell in the experience that your dogs has rounds through searching for the eggs contained in the stool. they could p.c.. up roundworms from everywhere, somewhat. in the experience that your dogs performs the position different dogs poop (which may be everywhere, somewhat if there are various strays round) she will be able to p.c.. them up. no matter if you do not see the poop, the eggs can stay contained in the soil for a lengthy time period. they could also get roundworms from their mom so if she's a puppy and hasn't been dewormed yet, it really is probable the position she were given them. If she has pooped the roundworm eggs out on your backyard, she will be able to change into reinfected at a later date so so that you could frequently deworm her OR shop her on a sturdy heartworm prevention like Heartgard of Interceptor which also seems after roundworms.

It sounds like your puppie needs another treatment of medicine.

If a dog or puppy vomits up a worm, there is a good chance this is a roundworm (especially in a puppy). Roundworms are long, white and described as looking like spaghetti. Tapeworms can also be vomited up but these are flat and obviously segmented. If you are not sure what type of worm you are seeing, bring it to your vet’s office for identification.

Take the pup back for a fecal. She may have different types of worms, or the deworming didn't kill all of them. It may be a hassle to drive to the vet and back for a fecal/deworming, but what would you do if you had an intestinal parasite that stole all of your nutrients? Treat this puppy like you would yourself, or find a better home for her.
