I am a fan of Saint Bernards and one morning on CBS Sunday morning, they indicated that there was such a breed as a miniature Saint Bernard. I wondered if anyone out ther knows where to find such a breeder particularly in the midwest area. Thanks!

My oldest dog has a bit of arthritis and I have read glucosamine is recommended - I already take that myself - will she benefit from having these tablets or should I buy specific dog tablets? Also I am thinking of cod liver oil?

Has anyone flown with a dog recently and if so, did you pay and have to show a certificate of health and proof of vaccinations? I've heard a lot of people just walk on with their dog and no one questions them. Any one know?

I know there is a Beagle. And I know there is a separate breed called a Bluetick Coonhound. However, I have had some people tell me that there is now a breed, recognized by the AKC I assume, called Bluetick Beagle. My cousin's dog may be just that type of dog. How could we find out?

Perhaps they have a few. I think one of them is " WHEN IN DOUBT, WASH." Take a look at your pet cat and beat mine! I am looking for the best motto a house cat could have!

I have had my Sulcata Tortoise for a little over 6 years. I got her when she was about 4 months old. I also have a apx 13-14 year old Sulcata. My problem is that Littlefoot (the 6 year old) eats well put she doesn't seem to be getting as big as she should at this age. I have heard alot of reasons on why such as that if she is a female (which I don't know which sex she is) that they grow at a lot slower pace then males. Also I have been told that as long as she is eating and her shell isn't deformed then she is doing ok. I'm concened because my neice has one who is younger then mine but twice the size. Anyone know where I can find a chart that would tell me how big she should be at this age?
Thanks A Bunch

My cat is acting strange. He is slow and will not play with me or my other kitten. He is eating, drinking, and using his litterbox as normal. He does not have diarhea and is not vomitting. His gums are fine, and his ears feel normal. I am worried about him. I've raised this kitten from when he was two days old, he was abandoned by his mother. He is now 5 months. What could be wrong with him? Note: I do not have enough money to take him to a vet and have all kinds of tests run, not at this stage.

I would love to make them toys, and I know to use cotton rope, but I'm not sure what type of wood I should use...

I notice that he doesn't eat the food immediatly as he used to do before, he eats it slowly and does not seem to care much for his food now...so should I starve him for couple of days?

I adopted a puppy about 1 1/2 weeks ago and he started showing symptoms of Kennel Cough about 2 days later. On the 3rd day, (A Sunday, of course, no one to contact) he was uninterested in his food.

Now, 1 1/2 weeks later, he is still pretty boogery . He is eating and playing and only seems a bit tired (though I swear he's grown three inches in the time I've had him, which could be why he is a bit tired). His boogers are a little green but no blood and they flow well.

Should I be worried? He has a booster appointment in a week, so I would hate to incurr a vet expense for no reason.

She had her kittens almost 5 weeks ago and moves them around alot. I show her all kinds of affection and feed her everything she wants(she even eats green beans). She is so skinny but eats constantly, and her poop is runny and she is constantly passing gas so bad i have to leave the room. She eats her hard food and sometimes 2 cans of soft food and usually my cocker spaniels food also. Could the dog food be causing her gas? I have also recently found her drinking the water out of the fish bowl no matter where I move it too she gets into it. It is a beta and I use the drops for the water. I was told she would only eat and drink what she needed to provide for her babies but I am concerned for her health. She also moves the babies to where ever my dog is at that doesn't seem normal to me. The dog is sorta scared of the babies she doesn't know what to think of 5 babies climbing on her.

I have recently had to move into my parents house, before my moving transistion to California.
My cats (sisters,5 yrs old) never had dandruff problems until we moved into my parents house. The thing is I have to keep them in the basement b/c my dad is allergic. (but its like a living room down there for them..) I am wondering if the basement is too dry for them, and what I can do to help prevent some of their dandruff? I know all cats have it to some extent, but theirs seems a little extreme. Especially my short haired. (One has long hair and one has short hair) They both allow me to brush them daily and they in fact enjoy it..
Just wondering is anyone has some solutions for me to try and see if its just their new enviornment, before taking them to the vet.

Thanks for all responses.

I have a 1.5 yr old golden retriever that any time someone other than family pets him, sprays. Only until he gets used to the new person thought. He does not mark territory or any thing like that, simply pees out of excitement. Is there a way to teach him not to do that. I thought when he got neutered, that would help. So far we have resorted to putting him in his kennel to settle down when company is here. He is so social..........and a really well behaved dog except this one thing.

We just put up new fence posts (mostly wood, but a few composite). Our land isn't all flat, so the posts are all different heights. What do I do to keep them all the same height? WHat is the recommended height for horse and cow fencing ? Thanks!

We keep our dogs in a kennel in our barn with our other animals. Winter is approaching and I would like to know what I can do to keep our canned dog food from freezing. We mix half dry and half canned, and our barn isn't heated.
