Yes, three times, and I chose to stay with my dogs each and every time.
Many people, for whatever reason, choose not to stay. It's a matter of personal choice, but for me, there was no other choice.
My dogs were always there for me when I needed them, and I wanted to be with them during their last moments. It's not easy, but my vet let me stay with the dog as long as I wanted after wards to hold them, grieve and say my final good-byes.
Of course, my grieving didn't end after I left, but it was the right decision for me. Thinking about it now still brings tears to my eyes.

i'd not propose taking it to a Vet: they can supply very sick dogs or cats an IV injection that knocks them out in a fragment of a 2d, yet a mouse is too small for that. An IP or IM injection will be painful and sluggish, and also you do not favor that on your pal. actually, puting the mouse in a plastic bucket with a block of dry ice is completely humane. then you definitely ought to cover the bucket with something it really isn't any longer air-tight, like somewhat of cardboard. He would only flow to sleep because the dry ice filled the bucket with carbon dioxide. After an hour or 2 (to be particular) you could get rid of him. The somewhat decrease priced selection it really isn't any longer extremely so quick, yet both painless is to placed him in a field contained in the freezer in a single day. death through freezing is lower than no circumstances painful.

a few times the worst was when my dog kept biting people i hated having to do it but the last straw was when he bit my 10 yrs old cousin it wasnt that bad but every other time it was because someone had jumped up and hit or hurt me in someway and the last time i wasnt even there so there was no excuse for it i was gutted i really loved him but the was a red cocker spaniel so i guess with the problem with rage syndrome you have to expect these things. i think the good things about pets mostly out way the last differcult decision sometimes its kinder xx good luck

I have had to put 2 dogs down and one cat. all three lived to be old but became very very ill and were in a lot of pain. It was horrible to do but I couldn't see them be on so much meds anymore.
I miss them....

Yes. It is heartbreaking. But being a responsible pet owner means doing what's best for the animal, not what's best for you. As a nurse, I wish we treated humans as humanely. Too many people are kept alive (miserably) for the sake of the family. It's so hard, but you have to love your pet enough to let them go.

Yes. But keeping your cat indoors, keeping your dog inside as much as possible, keeping your animals up to date on vaccinations, having them fixed, and having an emergency fund available can help put this off longer.

Yup. A cat that was hit by a car. Hardest thing I ever had to do. That cat was like a family member - had him in country with me and he kept me sane. He used to watch over my kids. It's been 30 years and I still miss that animal.

Yes, 3 times. But worse was to leave my 8year old Irish Setter(the 1st dog that was really only mine) because I had 2 move and he could not live in an apartment and nobody wanted him because of his age. Any way he was adopted and I still wonder if he was well kept. This was 21years ago.

O yes a few of them and I am still crying when I think of them! They are all my family and I love them so much! All of them were because of old age and they just couldn't any more!!! The worst was my best friend, my beautiful Arab stallion! He was my everything and we had to send him to heaven because of a horse sickness he carried with him for a long time! He was only 7 and the most beautiful creature on this earth to me! I still love him so much and think allot about him!
All love to my horse Ari!
