How can i stop my cat from jumping on the table???

If he keeps getting on the counters and tables..i might have to put him outside.(and hes not 2 good at defendin himself)I have 2 other cats outside also.(my step dad doesnt like cats on the table..so he throws them outside!)

Spray him with a water bottle everytime he gets up there or you can try to spook him off by rigging up some contraption that'll make lots of noise when he jumps on the table. Maybe a can pyramid that'll crash to the ground and make your cat get off the table.

I have 3 cats (kittens) but to keep them off the table and sofa I have a sray bottle filled with water, cats hate to get wet so if you spray them every time they jump on the table they will learn that is not where they need to be.

push her off when you see she's jumped on the table. cats land on their feet so dont worry. but dont throw it out please! the kitties dont know any better so give them a chance to learn first. Make sure theyre big enough though. If theyre too young a fall from a table to the floor can be harmful.

if you simply shove them off the table (not violently just a scoot) THEY will be annoyed with being scooted off those surfaces all the time and make themselves comfortable somewhere else.
get them a cat cushion where it can sleep and lay on so they can have somewhere in the house they'd rather be and where theyre sure they're aloud.
They just want a comfortable surface.

and tell your step dad to chill out. its not safe for cats to be thrown outside, they can wander off and really hurt themself or someone else can hurt them.
Some mean people take lost or stray pets and sell them to fur farms to skin them alive for their fur. And these places dont care if the animal has a collar or not - they just want their fur

that is the stupidest reason to put a cat outside. no cat should ever be forced to live out there. give the cat away or bring it to a no kill shelter so it can be adopted to a loving home that will be kind to the cat.

there are so many ways to keep a cat off your table and counters. use double sticky tape make a false ledge by taping cardboard just off the edge of the counter or table, put some empty soda cans around .the edge and they will hit them and get scared. after a few times of that your cat will learn.

People who put their cats outside instead of dealing with the issues are horriable. they should be arrested. for animal neglect.

Can't don't like tinfoil or loud noises. You could put tinfoil on the area until it learns. You could put pennies in a can, when kitty jumps up and knocks down the cans it will scare it and not want to go up there anymore. That way you don't have to stand there with a squirt gun, but you know the second you are gone, kitty will jump up.

You can use a small watergun. If you see the cat jump on it then give it a couple of squirts. They don't like water and will associate the water with the table or any other surface that you don't want them on.

hes trying to play a game, he gets on the table then you run after him, and scream and yell, then he gets picked up... just go to the table get him firmly tell him no whoop him on the butt and then put him in the floor, if that doesnt work line the table with just enough animinum foil that when he walks around on the table it makes a noise that will scare him

As said before, a water gun or a water bottle, that is the best way to keep a cat off anything that you don't want them on! But it will take time. keep doing it, it will work.
