He's has bright yellow-green eyes. He also has a few black splotches on his side, and a curvy zig zag across his forehead. I'd like a few Oriental inspired names, or regular if you think it fits.

I have an old english game rooster who is the parent of one of the pullets. He has mated with one of his offsprings and that chicken is now laying fertile eggs. If these eggs are hatched would the resulting chicks be more prone to genetic defects? Is the father mating with his offspring as bad as two siblings mating with each other? What are the effects of inbreeding for chickens?

I am looking for sites, ideas, etc. for an inexpensive creative costume for my dog. She would wear an extra large. She is not really keen on the hat portion. We go trick or treating every year. I am open to all suggestions and ideas.

My family has a 4 1/2 year old great dane/chocolate lab mix. He has been the sweetest, most laid back, well behaved dog ever! The family we got him from raised him with rat terriers and he was great with them.

About 2 months ago we got a mini dachshund puppy as well. Now our big dog's behavior is is starting to get out of control. He growls at anyone that walks by. He takes off from our yard (he used to stay in our yard without a leash) and won't come back when we tell him to stop. When we leave the house, he darts out of the door, and we have to chase him to get him to go back inside. He even pooped in the house once!

We are trying to give him a lot of extra love, but it seems to be getting worse.

We are also having problems getting our puppy housebroken. We are reading books and trying everything!

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what we should do? We are feeling like we have made a HUGE mistake, and that we have no control over our dogs.

I love my kitty and I would hate for her to ever get sick, but vet bills are very expensive to be paying out of pocket. Does anyone have pet health insurance, and if so is it worth it?

I have a 9 month old maltipoo puppy. she decided she won't eat dry dog food anymore. now i mix the dry food with those small cans of wet food. i noticed she's gotten heavier since i've been feeding her the wet food. maybe because i've been giving her a can in the morning and also at dinner. should i only be feeding her once a day or continue with twice a day? i don't want her to have weight problems. how do i know how much she needs? someone told me puppies don't know when they're full and they will eat and eat. so as long as i put it in front of her, she'll eat it, i just don't want her to be eating too much. any suggestions?

I have a daughter who has her heart set on getting a Quaker Parrot. She has done an amazing job educating herself and raising the money to purchase the bird and essentials.

The problem is that I have very bad allergies and asthma. We are
currently sitting a Cockatiel, the 'dustiest' species I'm told, and I have had a very bad time with allergies. Are the Quakers that much less dusty? I have heard that there sprays and that frequent grooming can help to reduce the dust and feathers, but how much do they really help? Is the hope of being unaffected by the Quaker even possible? Do air filters make much of a difference?

We plan to try and sit a Quaker to do a test, but I don't want to give my daughter any false hope.
We have a bichon frise that I have done fine with, as long as I wash my hands after petting and grooming her.
Any comments, help, info, etc. would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Laura

My 8 mos. old lab mix seems to have a problem when we leave even for 5 mins. We do crate her when we leave, because she will chew things up. We rent so we rather crate her than have damage we will pay for later. This was very successful with our last dog, which was also a lab mix. Crating was ok'd by the vet. She seems to like the crate. We made it very cozy for her. She goes to her crate on command. When we come home, she gets wild, jumps and cry-barks. She will go on for about 10 mins or so and won't calm down right away. She has a bad case of separation anxiety. She gets very excited when people come near her. She is just very happy to see people, but I feel her behavior is going to get someone hurt. She is at least 40 lbs. I am hoping she is just doing this because she is so young and she will calm down like my last dog(she wasn't as bad as the one we have now). She is a very loving dog otherwise and great with everyone. Can't afford professional training.

He is 7 years old. And has always been in good health. So this is really wierd. No appetite change or attitude, just lots of sneezing - one after another - usually 6 in a row.

My dog was excited at the vets--lots of adrenaline pumping. He got a kennel cough vaccine in his rear leg. When we got home we went for a walk and then I left him tied in the yard for ten minutes. When I came back to get him, he was curled into a ball shaking and he would not step on his leg. He is obviously not himself--he won't even chase the cat.
