If she has looked like she's pregnant for 4 months then she's not pregnant. Dogs are only pregnant for 57 -67 days. Either your dog is overweight or has a medical condition such as thyroid. She needs to go to a vet for an exam. Dogs should get yearly vet exams anyway and twice a year if they are 7 years and older.

does she look like she swallowed a watermelon? Has she looked this way for a long time? if so the babies should have come long ago. Can you feel babies in her stomach? if not tell your dad i said to take her into the vet. she may be retaining water. I would much rather pay a vet bill than have a kid crying over a loved pet.

It sounds like she has worms. This needs to treated by a vet. If not treated the dog can get very sick. If she doesn't have worms, then there is something else going on with her. Watch for changes in appetite also. Tell your dad to take her to the vet, she is sick.

If your dog was pregnant for four months, that would be a guiness record. Gestation for dogs is normally between 58-65 days.
If she's got a swollen belly she might have a nasty case of roundworms--though if they were that bad, you'd see them like spaghetti every time she went to the bathroom.
If your dad won't take her to the vet, then save your money and take her yourself. She doesn't deserve to suffer.

If she actually is pregnant, leave her alone. Animals instinctively know what to do. Another thing you can do is look at her nipples. My dog had two litters and their bigger than mine.
Sometimes what looks like pregnancy can mimic a condition that needs to be taken care of, i.e. tumor.

Well she will only carry puppy's 9 weeks so she would've already had them by now. If you think that she miscarried them and didn't bleed or discharge the dead puppies then just keep watch on her and let your dad know immediently if she gets sick. She will die if she has miscarried and get sick. Otherwise she is probably just being overfed.

Your dog may have a health concern. Dogs's pregnancies do not last 4 months. I think their pregnancies MAY be 3 months but wouldn't swear to it.
