The most important thing is....to not give them people food! Ever! If you must give them treats, wait until you are done with dinner and then put it in their doggy dish.

The best thing to do, would be to get a crate, put it in the living room, or den, or somewhere else away from the kitchen, and put the dog in it while you are eating. Each time you put the dog into the crate, say "CRATE" The dog will eventualy learn to go there by himself when you say crate, and probably will even go there before you say it. After a month or so, as he will begin to associate your eating, with his "crating". A good time to feed him would be AFTER you eat, that way he will associate crate with "I will get to eat soon!" And above all else, do not feed him people food, it is not nutrious for him.

The best thing to do is ignore them or tell them to go lay down. Be firm and consistent. If you are not consistent, they will get confused and not know what to do. Once you get into the habit of feeding them people food, it is nearly impossible to stop. I know from experience!!!

Do what we do. We have 2 Siberian Huskies that are in the house most of the time. However, when we sit down to eat a meal, they go outside until we are through eating. End of problem.

send them to another room from where you are eating and make them stay there until you are done. Dont let them eat anything from the table, they will think they are a part of the family, and keep begging

fisrt find out who started feeding him in the first place and ask them to stop then just ignore them and be firm sith the dog, if you are not the dog will start believing he is the master and that is when you are screwed.

Ignore them. They'll get the idea not to beg sooner or later.

dog trainers say to ignore behaviour you don't want your dog to have. so we usually ignore ours, and if he still snuffles or waits for food, we tell him "no" and he moves away.
