I have 2 dogs outside and 1 cat indoors/out. Im 30 yrs old and have my own house w/wife n kids. But when i was young, i used to talk to my uncle about how i like pets. When i talked to him about dogs he said, tight. but to cats, he said that cats are for girls only and dogs for boys mostly. Is that true. Also, if dogs were more for boys, then why do so many gurlz like dogs more den cats. Thanks n 10 pts for best answer.

I just wondered. I thought it would be kind of a lonely existance not to have a dog. I love my little doggy.

But I'm really not sure what it is. I've had her for three years, she's fairly small, and has always been healthy. I don't know much about tumors when it comes to rats though...I've only ever had one dog get cancer, and his tumors were hard lumps.

Her's is on her belly, right inside her back leg. It's soft and squishy, and it doesn't seem to hurt her at all when you touch it or press it, she doesn't even flinch. She's limping, but only because it's right by her leg and in her way when she walks. It's a bit bigger than a bottle cap, and egg shaped, and only sticks out a tiny bit. She's not acting any different than usual that I've noticed.

So I was just wondering if it was for sure a tumor, or if maybe she has a tiny cut or something and it's just pus...I couldn't see anything but I may have overlooked it. I'm going to take her to the vet, but I thought I'd ask here too, since I won't be able to take her until monday.

Thanks in advance!

Some people might know about my other question about my dog acting strange and the other dog attacking her and stuff.........Well I sent her to a vet and they couldn't find anything wrong with her, all they could conclude was that she couldn't feel where her front legs were. They sent her to proffessional doctors at the UOM (i live in minnesota) And they concluded she was pretty much gonna dye a slow and eventually painful and that there was know way to save her because her condition was gradually getting worse she ended not being able to move her neck or back legs.So the doctor told us the most humane thing to do is put her down. I did and was holding as they injected her and I can't help myself I don't know how to deal with this........

A favorite dog doesn't just have to be cuteness, but also because it's well-trained or stuff like that. Personally, I love them all! Well, almost!

The dog stays alone when I am in the school and my parents are at work. It pees on the carpet, cries, barks, eats shoes, books, wires and furniture. Outside it runs after the cats and might end up under a car. It broke 3 leashes during the walk, therefore now we put him on the chain outside 3 times a day and it always cries. If we take him in the car - it gets sick, and you can't leave him inside if you want to go buy something. At the river it barks at everybody and chases other dogs. If you want to stay over the night or go for a trip - your dog is a problem because you have to stay home and walk and feed your dog. It costs a lot of money to groom it. At winter you have to wash his feet every time you walk with him. 3 times a day! Is there an easier way to be a responsible dog owner?

we were given two lovebirds today that have not been very well cared for. they are fairly young (still have black on their beaks) and are very tame - you can pick them up and pet them. One of the birds has splayed legs and can only climb around on the side of the cage. Is there anything that I can do for this bird to help it get back to normal? No matter what we are going to provide the best life for it as possible - we just need some good advice.

We brought my dog in from outside yesterday and discovered a wound on his tail that appears to be a bite. Today I noticed that it is oozing a yellowish green fluid and it has a really nasty sweet smell that is getting stronger. I really can't afford to take him to the vet but I am afraid of what it might be. He's up to date on his rabies shot but isn't on his distemper. Again, it's one of those things that I haven't been able to afford ever since I lost my job. I love my dog with all my heart and don't know what to do.

I was wondering if you could train a Vizsla to be a guard dog... sounds a little freaky, I know, but I just was wondering. I already know they make great family and hunting dogs, but as to the guard factor... I'm not so sure.

He is a four year old male... he marks in the same 4 places over and over again... we tried everything the vet asked us to... and we even treated him with antibiotics for a possible urinary tract infection...

he was a stray cat with seperation problems (abandoned from his mother too early)

we tried everything... we put things in the places so he doesn't mark there and he goes anyway!

WHAT SHOULD I DO!!!

and if it doesn't work out, what can i do with my cat if i want to give him away?!??!?!?

We have been to the vet several times, and I had to put a salve in her eye twice a day for two weeks, and that didn't help. Next, we tried eye drops four times a day. Those didn't help either. Her actual eye is fine, but the lid above and next to her eye is very swollen. Does anyone have any ideas what could be causing this?
