Help! We bought a house with very strong cat odor. We've tried vinegar & baking soda. Most of the smell has come out. But every once in a while I get a whiff of it, and it's strong. It's such a gagging smell too. Any other suggestions to rid the smell once and for all? We ripped the carpets out even sanded the hardwood floors, put all new interior doors, and sanded down all kitchen cabinets. The smell is worse when it's rainy and damp outside.

This was a very friendly lab that my son had been around numerous times. He recently had braces put on his teeth and was attacked by this dog and suffered a severe bite requiring the expertise of a plastic surgeon. I'm wondering if this has happend to anyone else??

The issue, like so many of lifes great questions, is a simple one:

''Given a relatively level playing field -- i.e., water deep enough so that a Shark could maneuver proficiently, but shallow enough so that a Bear could stand and operate with its characteristic dexterity -- who would win in a fight between a Bear and a Shark?''

This question is based on a book by Chris Bachelder and became a topic for stoned conversation at uni on many a hazy night, and now, friends in yahoo, I invite you to comment. Bear? Shark? You decide!

Oh... I dont want any, 'this isnt realistic', 'this is cruel' or 'the real winner is Jesus' rubbish, this is purely hypothetical question (until I get the planning permission for the arena) and isnt about vegeterianism, Bush, Israel, Jesus, Orlando Bloom or Azif from Pakistan who is looking for a new friend/arranged marriage.

I also want to know why, and how the fight would pan out!

I am undecided on which breed of python to get. i have been looking after/rescuing reptiles for a number of years so i am not naive about looking after exotic pets, but this will be my first venture into snakes. i have looked at and heard of most of the pros and cons of each species but i am still undecided.

I had to put my dog Buffy, to sleep a little over 2 weeks ago. She had bladder cancer and could no longer pee. I had her creamated and now have the ashes in a beautiful little urn in my bedroom. Every night since I've received the ashes back, there is a puddle of "water" in the middle of the kitchen floor. I swear, I think it is Buffy telling me that she is ok now....that she is peeing again. I know it sounds ridiculous, but there is literally no explanation as to where this puddle is coming from. The sink isn't leaking; neither is the fridge (my husband checked both). Has anyone every experienced anything like this after dealing with the loss of a pet? I'm serious about this, so no crazy answers please!

Id get rid of pigeons, cos they are just dirty and annoying!
Ants because they freak me out, they are small and move really fast.
And, eels cos they just look strange. I was swimming in the sea (in the Caribbean) and saw some, I couldnt get out of the water fast enough.

We had a cockatoo named Elvis, 12 years old. He loved the outdoors hanging in his cage whisteling at the other birds. We found him dead yesterday. We had a hanging petunia beside his cage. Would eating the plant have caused his death?

hey - k ive got a 10 yearold mare who has been lame for the last 3 months, Not a normal lameness though - shes totally sound on the left rein, and inconsistently lame on the right. Ive had her xrayed, got her navicular checked and block tested her leg - the vet still cant decipher what the cause is though.
Hes thinking tendons - but surely if it was a tendon shed be consistenly lame? She currently has a heel lift fitted to her shoe but is still hobbling around the place on and off - as I mentioned she can be sound as a bell for a few strides and then hobbles as if her leg is falling off! Id really appreciate any suggestions on what this could be as Ive spent a small fortune trying to right her but still dont even know whats wrong with her! Failing all else Ill be selling her as a brood mare - shes a thoroughabred out of Ballysimon Lad if theres any takers out there!!!! Thanks guys!

I have for several years wanted and studied all I could about Sulcatas. Living in Florida I had the perfect environment for a tortise and had plans on getting one soon now that I feel I know all I need to give him a great life but now, My husbnd has been offered a job in NY. I have never seen snow and have no clue what to expect. Can anyone tell me will be possible to set up a full finished basment and be able to keep it warm enough so my tortise will be able to thrive.? What kind of heating should I use for him. Any set up ideas would be apreciated as well. Again as i have said i have spent years getting ready for my tortise and know just about all there is to know about raising them i just have no clue about raising them in NY. I would be heart broen if I could never have my guy.

My dog will go through the cat's litterbox when I am away from home or in my room and I have tried to teach her to stop, but she still does it, does anyone know how I can stop her from chewing on the cat's feces??? Also, my dog eats the cat's food when I am not around, can anyone help me with that? Rude and sarcastic answers are not needed, thanks.

One of my goldfish has died and the other was at death's door. so we took it out and put it in fresh water. We buried the dead one and cleaned the tank throughly. Yesterday we put the other goldfish back in the tank. I came down this morning to find that the goldfish's tail had started to divide into strands, one by one these strands began to fall off. Now it's only got about 5 strands left (each one is as thin as a human hair.) Could anyone tell me what is happening to our beloved family pet?
