I have 2 dogs outside and 1 cat indoors/out. Im 30 yrs old and have my own house w/wife n kids. But when i was young, i used to talk to my uncle about how i like pets. When i talked to him about dogs he said, tight. but to cats, he said that cats are for girls only and dogs for boys mostly. Is that true. Also, if dogs were more for boys, then why do so many gurlz like dogs more den cats. Thanks n 10 pts for best answer.

Um, I don't think the owning of animals has a gender attached to it. I know lots of guys who have cats. It depends on the kind of pet you want. I have both a dog and a cat--the dog is wayyyyyy more work and responsibility than the cat. Most of the guys I know who have cats have them because they have very hectic jobs and can't commit to walking a dog everyday--so the cat is the choice for "low maintenance." Yes, I know cats can be high maintenance too, so don't jump down my throat--that is just what they said to me. It all depends on personal preferences.

I think cats are more for girls, but i know a lot of guys who like cats too. Same with dogs, although with dogs i think everyone loves them boy and girls. Personally i love all animals.I think it all depends on the type of person getting the pet.

I believe everyone has a different preference, it sounds like his was dogs. My husband is a huge cat lover, has 9 of them, I have 2 dogs, I like both though.

I think it's different for every person. But to me, cats are more feminine and in some ways are more emotionally compatible with guys. Maybe this is because both of my cats are female...
Well, I can't give you an unbiased answer but I like cats more and think they fit me better than my sister. IMO, girls like people tending to them more than guys do. Guys like to be left alone at times and cats, who are generally more solitary, honor that with just their species' personality.
