He is a four year old male... he marks in the same 4 places over and over again... we tried everything the vet asked us to... and we even treated him with antibiotics for a possible urinary tract infection...

he was a stray cat with seperation problems (abandoned from his mother too early)

we tried everything... we put things in the places so he doesn't mark there and he goes anyway!

WHAT SHOULD I DO!!!

and if it doesn't work out, what can i do with my cat if i want to give him away?!??!?!?

Did your Vet say anything about neutering him?? This will 98% of the time help. Are their other cats in the house?? This is a problem as well.

here are a few things that may help...if your cat isnt fixed - DO IT. Get a self cleaning litter box so it always has a clean place to go potty and clean the places he is peeing with urine gone or kitty no products. Male cats have a tendancy to do this just to be brats so this may just be a lifelong thing for him. If you want to give him up tell the shelter you give him to or put an ad in the paper and if someone is interested BE honest about your cats habits. OH and keep him on the foods to prevent Urinary infections!

Obviously, if he's not neutered do that right away. If he was peeing because of an infection, even if the infection is gone, now it's a habit. You may need to cage him when you're not able to watch him - you'll need a big dog crate or cage big enough for a littler box and a water bowl but not so big that there's really anywhere else for him to go. He'll need to be in it for at least a couple weeks. It's not easy to do this, but if you surrender him to a shelter, no one will adopt him with that history. Or you can try some anti anxiety meds (similar to Prozac) from the vet.

I had that identical crisis with my cat nevertheless it was once due to the fact that he would scent different cats *frequently it was once different animals all in combination.* So wipe down the locations quite good and blank them very good. If that does not paintings, take him on your vet.

wow that sounds difficult. my cat used to do that exact same thing and we ended up just giving her to spca so that she could find a better home. i think spca is best because many people go there looking for pets and the people who work there treat the animals good.

Is he neutered? If not, get him done....also, cayenne pepper...sprinkle liberally where he "sniffs" and this should stop it; also, try something called, I think, sticky paws...you peel it off the back and place it where he scratches, but the tackiness of the sticky stuff drives them crazy and they'll stop...

have the cat fixed alot of time that can fix the problem, but usually once the cat or animal has the scent it will always have the scent.
