He used to be an outdoor cat. Now we live in the city, and he is confined to the apartment. He is 17 and toys require a lot of activity. I am thinking that an aquarium, stocked with fish of course, is the equivalent of cat tv. Another mammal is out of the question, as are lizards, amphibians, and birds.

I really want a puppy. I absolutely love yorkies! I also like brussels griffons (the ugliest cuties I've ever seen. they remind me of those things off of star wars), yorkie/bichon mixes, doxies, and doxie poos.

Recently my goldfish has passed a a thin mucousy string several times. It's longer than normal and it looks really weird. What could it be? He only has coloured food, nothing white.

Could there be health risks? They aren't mine, it happened to a friend of mine, but the kittens came out and seem to be healthy, I just wonder if they should be worried about giving them away to people knowing they are inbred.

I just bought a beta at a local pet shop. The person at the shop told me to only feed the fish one to two pellets every 2 days but the label on the container of pellet food that I purchased indicated to feed the fish several times per day. Which one is correct? Any advice is welcome. Thank you.

After 15,000 years of dogs protecting our families and helping us hunt for food saving our lives and the lives of family members why would people throw them away like garbage? Cats also have protected us from the diseases carried by mice and rats alerted us to fires in the home allowing us to escape...why would someone throw away a whole litter of kittens why???? After years of saving cats and dogs from uncaring people I just want to know what makes people repay our greatest and most trustworthy and honest companions with such cruelty and abandonment...Please I want to know what you think.....P.S If you have ever "gotten rid of" a companion animal I am very interested to know how you justified your own cruelty against an innocent.....and what the reason was for you dropping them off on the side of the road or at a kill shelter

One woman who owns one told me that they are, but she said they do shed. I know American Eskimos are considered low allergy and they are very similar to Samoyeds. Sammy's are my fave bree and I would love to own one someday, but my allergies are severe.

dont think i want to train these breeds of dogs to guard. no. a difference between a watchdog and a guard dog is that a watchdog will only bark and alert but guard dogs will attack. i want to know which of the following breeds of dogs is a better WATCHDOG.

I found a baby bird that has fallen from his nest. The nest is far out of my reach. As a matter of fact even with a tall ladder I would be unable to reach it. It's been at least 2 hours since I first found him. I used a syringe to give him some declorinated water. I am about to try giving him some food I mashed up containing only declorinated water and some freeze dried bloodworms (betta fish food). The mother bird is close by and very attentive. I'm afraid if I leave him there the cats that live there may find him. But if I take him does he have any chance of making it??? He still has about 1/2 baby fluff and he is starting to develop feathers.

Ok - Read this before you answer me telling me that there are reputable breeders and people who know what they are doing -
I know there are good breeders out there. I know that they are rare, but I have no problem with breeders who know what they are doing and breeding for the love of the dog- not the money. I know that Chetco is one of them, or so it seems, so don't b*tch at me telling me that I'm wrong and stupid etc. But why does 80% (give or take) of america choose to ignore the fact that 610 animals die each minute in the US? I know it's clearly ALL about the money, but do you think these people are truly unhappy people who'd rather have shelter dogs die than live w/out a few bucks? It makes me sick when I see people asking stupid questions like "Does anyone want to breed their dog w/me?" "How should i breed my dog?" "How much should I charge for my new puppies?" Clearly, if you don't know the answers to those questions, YOU SHOULD NOT BE BREEDING. Period. I'm done ranting.
