they don't. They will die when it's they're time whether they're upside down or not, but if they do get upside down then they will definetly die because they'll get stuck that way and starve. And I'm sure that there's some other intelligent reason of why they always die when they're upside down... which i dont know

They cannot breath as well.
I have never seen a turtle that could not flip itself back over and I have had hundreds.

They starve to death. Pirates use to catch tutles and store them on their backs until they killed them for food.
/other ships did too, but pirates sound cooler
