I would like some Guinea Pig owners to give me some reasons to own or not to own one. my daughter is four, but very mature and has had a hamster, but it died of old age(over 3 years old), so we looking to get her something else. I have read up on care, and they seem fairly easy to take care of, but I want some personale experiences.

I am well aware that I would be the main caregiver, which is actually good because i miss having a baby (I know that is a whole nother issue).........

Ok, my mother-in law has 12 cats in her home and she feeds all the neighborhood strays. Her house smells awful because of all the cats running wild. Now, my question is why? why do people like cats so much that they have to horde so many? I had one cat that lived for twenty years and just recently passed on, but I never had the need to get more.I am just trying to get some opinons.

Have you ever tried to eat your cats treats? I was just curious because they say they are meaty flavored. So, I wonder if they truely taste like chicken or beef.

About a week and a half ago, it was like my dog Foxy had a total breakdown. She wasn't eating anything, wasn't walking or moving, had a fever and lost interest in activities she used to love. My mom brought her to the hospital and she stayed there for a few days. They told my mom that she had a sist on her pancreas. Soon she started eating again, but then her eye swelled up three times its normal size! (Brain tumor?) A few days later we took her home again but she just got worse. Now she hasn't eaten in a week and my mom is gonna have to put her to sleep today unless we can find out what's wrong with her. Please help me!

You can see that they are not controlling the jump... it can last for a few seconds or continue for a few minutes.

There is a lot of info on the internet and in books, but I'd like first-hand advice on what you found most important, most helpful, key steps in bringing your shelter dog home....: (I am planning on getting a puppy, somewhere between 3-12 months old).

- how did you make their first night (s) and days comfortable?
- how soon should I take the pup to the vet for his first visit?
- what age is appropriate for taking a pup for walks on a leash?
- what "signs" should I look for in the dogs when choosing - for example, ways to recognize aggression issues or socialization problems
- What were the "essentials" you were glad you had bought ahead of time?
- How long did it take your dog to start acting happy and comfortable in its new home?

There are 3 adults, one in college but here for the summers, and I'm 13...we have 2 cats, one that doesn't like change too much, and the other one doesn't really care. We need a breed that should be well mannered and all that kind of stuff...so what do you think?

I've been working with a 2-year-old Appendix Quarter Horse gelding. He's huge (15.2 and growing), athletic, and gorgous. He has a bucking problem when saddled but trainers and chiropractors have looked at him and said it was an attitude thing and could be straightened out with a confident trainer, that's why I've been working with him. Recently, he ws hurt in a trailer incident and the owner just wants to get rid of him and offered me this awesome horse for under $1000. I have broken 2-y/os before and have been working with horses for almost 10 yrs. This horse would be awesome to replace my TB gelding when he gets too old for eventing. But would he be worth it? My trainer's going to look at him this week (she'd help me out if we did buy him) and we'll have him vet checked to see if his injuries will affect his movement. My parents wanted to wait a few years before buying another horse but he kind of fell into our hands. I'm just interested what someone else would do in my situation.
