Playsand can be okay for reptiles (it's better when they are older because they are less prone to impaction from ingesting the sand), but if you aren't buying the fine "sugar sand", sift it through a screen of some kind first to get rid of all the rocks and larger pieces which would be more likely to lead to impaction.

It can lead to impaction and death if the geckos injest it. There are quite a few safer options out there. That said, I know several people who use it with no problems.

DO NOT use the sand for your gecko. Sometimes they can ingest it and it clogs their intestines and can kill them. I worked in a pet store for 4 years and we often had problems with different kinds of sand. Try using the bark sold in pet stores.

Its ok. Mostly only adults should be put in playsand. Babies may ingest it and become sick.

No. Impaction can occur at any age and should never be used for substrate what so ever, period.

i say no.... play-sand may have parasites that can harm it....you should go to petco and get reptisand with calcium i fine it works best....
