I have considered names like, "Porter", "Scout", "Roscoe", "Major", and most recently "Shadow". He is predominantly Black. "Shadow" seems to work well given the fact he is a Tri colored Collie, with his hind legs brown in front and black in the back. Looks like they have a built in shadow. He also appears to be wearing a mask on his now very cute face. His back is completely black except for a white spot where his color would normally be. (Things I'm looking for in a name - Something, snazy, irish, trendy, friendly, matching that of a calm, sweet, smart, good looking dog...)

I have 3 black moors and 2 (chubby kind) of goldfish that look just like the black moor without the puffy eyes. After a year my one black moor started to lose the black and turn gold. Can anyone tell me why?

The black discoloration on his tail looks as if it is eating away at his tail. It started out on one part of his tail and has now spread on to other parts of his tail. It is only on the very edge of his tail. Can anyone tell me what it is and how I can treat it??

I have a orange tabby! he is my adorable little lion I call him. I love him so very much. He is my true love. I was watching Animal Planet & they said "dogs" are descended from Wolves. SO I was wondering about kitties!

Either he bites me when I'm petting him even when I'm completely paying attention to him, or he attacks me and tries to eat my legs. He's sweet the rest of time, always purring and begging me to give him attention. It doesn't seem playful. It seems like he has a bit of jungle cat in him.

im getting two ferrets in a few months time and im planning on keeping them outside in a large, two storey, wooden rabbit hutch. would this be ok? bearing in mind that i live in the UK so its obviously not as hot as the USA climate (although it probably is today!) i will have a spare cage to bring them in during the day if the weather gets to hot, although my landlord won't allow them in the house all the time. Is there anyone who keeps there ferrets outside, in a large rabbit hutch, in the UK? any advice? tips?

Ive heard that the legal limit is 3.
I have 13 dogs and am retuning to UK from Spain, so this is a worry.
I know there was no limit when we left UK 2 years ago.

I don't want to hurt the animals, but I want to stop them for using my lawn as their bathroom. If no natural home remedies any suggestions on good but reasonable cost store remedies?

in some countrys, they still do that, even though it's banned in some places. i love elephants and would hate them to suffer. they dress the elephants up in paint, clothing, and put rediculous toys in their trunks to carry during the show. i know theres not alot i can do about it. but i think eventually it will be banned everywhere.they aren't treated well; small cages, being forced to do human-like things, not eating the proper food, not in the right habitat! the circus owners take any exotic animal and keep it as a pet; sometimes ilegally! elephants have been chosen too, also chimpanzees parots..exct. so, who hates that whole idea?

My cat licks hysterically when we scratch her on her back, in the area closest to her tail. The faster we scratch the more she licks herself. At first, when we start scratching her, she licks up into the sky, and then puts her head down and licks herself. As soon as we stop scratching her, she immediately turns off and stops licking herself. Can anyone explain this to me? Thank you!

My Love Bird is now over 8 years old and apart from having a few green feathers turn to yellow seems to be as sprightly as the day he was hatched! How much longer am I likely to enjoy his company?

one of my cats sighs a big long sigh just before she goes to sleep and the other one snores. it scares me when i wake up in the night and he's lying on my pillow snoring and kicking my head. is he normal? and while i'm on the subject, he licks my eyes in the morning to wake me up while the other ones bites my feet. if i put my hands over my eyes he picks them off with his feet. should i take them to a cat psychologist?

People always seem to have them impression, but is it really true, or do short-haired dogs shed just as much but with smaller hairs?

I would like to get a mixed breed dog from a shelter, and I wonder if there is any sense in avoiding long-haired dogs due to the shedding, or will it be the same either way?

We saw a raccoon in our backyard during a pool party yesterday, around noon. Aren't they nocturnal? After we all went inside, a friend suggested it was rabid. Should we call animal control?
