Try to keep her from scratching if at all possible. Make a mixture of Lanacane and over the counter antibiotic and put on the incision 2 times daily. If it's still itching, hold some ice folded in a wash cloth on her tummy.
Dogs heal fast, so it should be ok soon.

i would try some heavy winter socks on her hind feet, make sure theyre tall enough to go up over her knee and used some tape to hold it in place.

Usually a dog will be more concerned about the thing on its foot than whats happening around it. And if she does continue to itch she'll have something between her toenails and the wound.

As long as she's not bleeding there isnt much to worry about. The incision itches, its a normal part of the healing process.

The incision should look clean, some brown dried blood along the seam is acceptable, but nothing of any other color. The red color is much better than a white color as far as her skin goes, so atleast you know blood flow is readily available to the area. There also should never be puss (obviously) or a foul smell.

A cool wash cloth on her tummy might give her some relief from the itching, but you'll have to hold in on her for her.

You can try the lidocaine solution described above, ive personally never tried it. Some benodine solution might help, if you want to try it instead. Its an iodine, you can get it at any pharmacy.

But honestly, as long as she's not tearing herself open, or breaking skin she will survive, that incision will heal in no time, regardless. The socks have worked in the past for me, short of sitting on her theres little you can to to make her stop scratching.

Since it is the holiday weekend, get a pair of children's shorts to put on the dog. Just cut out a hole for the tail. You could also use a little antibiotic salve around the incision, but don't let it get into the incision.
Call your vet as soon as you can.

try and keep her from scrathing the best you can. as for the redness it will go away with a little neosporin antibacteral oitment. it is normal for dogs wanting to scratch that is a sign of healing.

My vet told me to use any cortizone product to stop the itching. Then use Neosporan to aid in faster healing.

call your vet. this is normal...it itches. perhaps your vet can give you a numbing cream or spray for the area so she is not so irritated.
