I have 3 black moors and 2 (chubby kind) of goldfish that look just like the black moor without the puffy eyes. After a year my one black moor started to lose the black and turn gold. Can anyone tell me why?

Black is a very unstable color and can turn to orange in many fish. Black moors aren't supposed to change but I had one that did too, all it means was it wasn't breed good and somewhere in its history there was a orange fish and that gene was strong in your fish. Sunlight is supposed to help a fish keep its black and can even sometimes bring it back but being orange isn't gonna hurt your fish so unless you want to build a pond its fine.

sure he's fantastic. The orange spreading will ultimately end by using the indisputable fact that is a black moor, no longer an orange moor. I once had a black oranda, then after 6 months, it spontaneously replaced its colour to impressive orange. i do not comprehend what happened, notwithstanding it genuinely became extra lively in accordance to my observations. i'm certain it gained't ensue on your black moor, because i have considered individual black moors that are 0.5 orange. some own comments, that black moor of yours is so good black in colour and that i corresponding to it.
