one of my cats sighs a big long sigh just before she goes to sleep and the other one snores. it scares me when i wake up in the night and he's lying on my pillow snoring and kicking my head. is he normal? and while i'm on the subject, he licks my eyes in the morning to wake me up while the other ones bites my feet. if i put my hands over my eyes he picks them off with his feet. should i take them to a cat psychologist?

If that's a picture of your cat, it's darling! I have a black and white cat too, and she snores all the time! The older she gets, the more she snores! She's 19 now, and still in pretty good health. I think her snoring is a crack-up. It's definitely a lot cuter than my father's was!!! LOL! The behavior is normal. If you don't like being awakened for attention, you could always try to change the behavior with a lot of patience and diversion tactics (good luck), but a cat psychiatrist isn't worth the bucks. If you are close to your cat, you know why it does what it does, and can find ways on your own to change the behavior. I usually just learn to live with it, if it's harmless... By the way, my cat wakes me up by standing right next to my ear and yelling "Meow!!!" How's that for a rude awakening? It's like "WAAAAAAAAAAAKE UUUUUP!!!" LOL

No My cats do exactly the same things.. They lick my eyes.. Lick my hands and anything if they get a chance.. I believe this to be a mutual grooming that shows they have bonded with your pack

It is normal for them to snore.. If they do it while they are awake like mine do have them checked to see if they have an enlarged heart.. This is mostly harmless but presses on the windpipe making them snore..

I get kicked in the head the back the side etc.. I often find myself wide awake holding there little feet to stop it from happening while they are fast asleep on my pillow.. It a cats life.. :-)

My cat Jamers snores like a lumberjack and has since he was a kitten. He is so loud you can hear him rooms away and he will wake you up at night if he is sleeping at the foot of the bed. When I asked my vet about it she told me Jamers snoring is not abnormal but still fairly rare in cats. Just another reason to love him for the squirrely creature he is.

Yes it is very normal!!!! Don't worry and do not waste your money, instead buy your cat some nice chicken instead!!

On of my cat snores and sighs really loud, she also makes these little cute quite (grunting?) noise. I can't describe it really!

Also I have not had the eye licking thing, but often get prodded on the lips by her paw whilst the other is sat on my pillow!

So don't worry and be thankful you have such cute cats!

=^..^=

My cat snores, sometimes in competition with my husband. I don't know if it is normal or not, but that's the way it is.

Yeah, my old cat snored. It was really cute :)

Not sure about the biting your feet though. Not a pleasant way to wake up...

its just being a normal cat, all cats snore, at least i think they do.
there is no such thing as a cat psychologist, if you're worried take to vet.

Yes my cats snore.

Kitty puts her paws down the covers and claws at my arm to wake me

That's normal cat behaviour. The biting and eye licking only comes from when they did it the first time they probably saw that it woke you up so they kept on doing it to wake you up if they needed attention.
