The crate that your dog is in...is it to big?? If the crate is too big then the dog will learn that he can pee in the corner and it will be out of the way. (he doesn't have to step in it) Also ... do you use the crate as a punishment? The dog may associate it with being bad and pee because he is scared. You should never dicipline the dog if it has peed and you don;t see it happen. The dog has no idea even minuits later that he has done anything wrong. make it a fun thing to go in the crate. Give him lots of praise and maybe a small treat.

I would take him to the vet to rule out anything medical, especially if this is new behavior. Otherwise, his crate may be too large. A crate should only be large enough for the dog to stand in and turn around. If he has extra room, he can mentally divide the area into sleeping quarters and the bathroom. If the crate seems large, take a box, and put it into the crate, pushing it all the way back, making the crate smaller and see how he does. In general, a dog will not pee in his sleeping space. Then again, how long are you crating him? A dog can only hold it so long, when you gotta go, you gotta go.

Most dogs don't pee in there personal space, I would talk to your vet or a beagle breeder and find out what maybe causing this, its not normal for his age! Talking to a beagle breeder would be your best bet and see if there is a something you can do so he won't do that!

Is his crate bigger than what it should be for his size? If they've got enough room to pee in one area and still are able to lay down without laying in pee, then his crate is too big. Or he really has to go and can't hold it any longer.

Change his crate to something else. He has come to associate that bedding as a place to potty. If he has a mat, change it to a towel or anything that is not the same material. Feed him his dinner, treats or a stuffed Kong in there so he will know it is a place to eat and sleep, not potty.

Probably caused by excitement .Do not scold him, makes matters worse!.Try keeping some paper on the crate floor and when he urinates take him and the paper outside show it to him and when he sniffs it praise him.DO NOT PUNISH HIM .he is probably sensitive thats why he piddles in the first place he will out grow it when his confidence rises.Good Luck to you.

Maybe he's in his crate way too long. If not, get him checked by a vet it may be a medical problem.
