I have Huskies and wish someone had told me the following:
Huskies are escape artists. I cemented my fences 2 feet into the ground, raised them to 10 feet and got special locks for the gate and they still get out so often the veterinarians and shelter workers in my area know them, on sight, by name.
Only after I adopted them did I read that they were bred to run over 100 miles per day (and need an an EXTREME amount of exersize) and that almost everyone who has them has trouble keeping them in the yard.
They are LOUD. They love to sing. At firetrucks, at big rigs, at leaves blowing, the neighbor's cat, the moon, anything. Mine wear shock collars to curb the singing. I thought that once they got the idea of no singing, I could stop with the shock collars. They know which collar shocks, and whether or not there is batteries in it to shock them. Smart, smart, smart! It also has to be on the highest setting because they ignore the lower settings.
Ask lots of questions of the people you get it from. Ask if they have any problems keeping it in the yard and if anyone has complained about the noise. You might be able to find a mellow one.
Like I said, this is advise I wish someone had given me. Please consider all I wrote.

Huskies are very active dogs. They were bred to pull a sled all day and sleep out in the snow. They need lots of activity to keep them entertained. With out lots of activity they get bored and they become escape artists. They jump they dig they will do almost anything to get out of a fence to run free. And they are tirelss at trying to get out.
They have some grooming things. They "blow" coat twice per year and you need to remove dead hair with a slicker brush. They shed quite a bit.
They are not always thebest dog for kids as they are not always a very affectionate dog. They are independant thinking dogs who need a job to do.
If you have an active lifestype and are willing to put up with the hair they can be wonderful pets.
Pugs are a small breed that has some breathing problems and one that can not tolerate heat very well. As they do not breathe well they do not cool to well and need to be kept indoors.
They are however hardy little guys who are sort of rough and tumble type dogs.
They have an attitude and they show it.
I personally like them alot and find that they are quite adaptable to many living situations. I also think they are just plain cute.

I have a husky and she is very good dog. She doesn't bark much, she loves attention from any stranger walking by. She cannot be trusted off the leash and she hates baths.
