I saw on here that bumble bees don't sting, and I know they do, I know people who have been stung by them. And they were bumble bees too, not carpenter bees.

Anyone have any ideas how to get rid of them, I have some at the back of my house.

I bought a gas fire about 3 years ago, so its out of warranty. The problem is that it isn't working & having contacted the manufacturer they say that the company that made the part I need no longer exist. The only way to resolve the problem is to buy the complete workings for the fire which has also had a few modifications since I bought mine & the cost of the parts will be almost £200 plus I have then to get a Corgi gas engineer to fit it at probably the best part of another £100. Its not a simple case of chucking the whole thing out and buying a complete new fire as its one of those modern built in the wall framed stainless steel jobs set about a metre high in a purpose made appature....... surely manufacturers have a duty to supply spare parts for their products for a number of years ......or dont they???

Looking to rebuild my home, and searching for discounted prices on materials in the DFW area. My home burned down, and we are rebuilding. I need everything, but I am looking for cheaper prices, not cheaper quality.

I currently have a dog run between my shed and a tree, and is about 25feet long. A dog run is a wire between two points up high with another wire connected so that it can freely glide along the longer wire overhead so that the dog has a large area to ...freely... roam.

Well I would like to move the run so that it can be 50ft long, but the shed is not tall enough, so I was wondering if it is a good idea to install a metal screw hook onto my house's roof to connect the line. If I seal around the hook there should be no leaks, but I wonder if the pull of the wire and the dog tugging on the line will damage the house?

Is this a good idea at all? I don't want to damage my 2 yr old house. The roof is shingle, and where is the best place for the hook, I have no clue where studs are.

Ours open in the front and we took out the nests at least 6 times this Spring and then finally gave up. The sparrows have taken over 3 of the houses and they will have at least 3 broods between now and fall.

So I smoke and my parents don't know. My dad stays up all night so I can't just walk outside, because he will come out too and want to know what I'm doing. Also, he is downstairs and I am upstairs, and if I just light up he will be able to smell the smoke and it will linger in my room.

Is there anything that I can do to neutralize the smell so I can smoke in my room but my dad won't know?

Oh, and also I can't open my windows because of the alarm system. PLEASE HELP>

at first they thought it was a weed until it started looking more like a tree. the trunk looks kinda bamboo-ish. does anybody know what it's called & what class of plant it is? is it poisonous? it looks pretty exotic. they said it grew *extremely* fast! one of his co-workers wants to transplant it to their own backyard as a keeper.

I am so totally thrilled about moving. To the point it's hard to think about anything else. I got TWO hours of sleep last night thinking about it. I'm excited. I have 13 days until I move. I'm moving VERY close to where I live now, so I'm not having movers or anything like that. I have done alot of packing, and I just don't know what I SHOULD be doing at this point, or how to stop thinking about it long enough to sleep! I can't go another 13 nights without sleep. Please help!

Our housemate has on two occasions accessed my partner's telecom account (first time it was the ISP account, the second time it was the telephone account). He has since disclosed our new address to 3rd parties and has told our landlord that we are moving out and given him our new address too (we have not yet given notice because we are not close to moving out). I am training to be a lawyer and am doing my own research on this but would appreciate any practical advice and would like to know if there is an English website that provides advice to people who live in shared houses (we live in England)

Our basement has a small kitchen (the water has been cut off because its only used for when guests visit), a 3/4 bath, 1 bedroom, the storage area with the water heater and such, and the rest is just a big room.

Where is is more likely we find roaches? (we get small ones, up to 1 inch, but TONS of them in the summer)

So I'm going away on a trip, but I fear my roommates would go in my room. The last thing I want is to have other people going through my personal belongings. I'm thinking about changing the doorknob since it's pretty old, and a number of people could very well just have the key.

But is it easy to change a doorknob? So far it doesn't look that hard. Upon looking at it, it just has two screws on the back door and two more screws on the side. I've also seen the doorknobs in hardware stores that looks easy to install. Is that just about it? Or is there a bad side to it that I've yet to think of?
